Hi everyone, was just wondering if one of you wise Icmelerites :D could help please? We have been to Icmeler lots of times and stayed in the Pinewood twice, which is supposed to be very close to the Kurt, by the map. We just cant place them, can anyone tell us which way it is as you come out of the Pinewood, we must have been past it loads of times  Mant thanks. Sue

Don't know where Pinewood is sorry, but if you stand with Deja Vu on your left and go up the little side road to the right opposite side to Deja Vu then turn left at the end of the little road Kurt apartments are on your right. They are very nice we stayed there last year and wish we had gone back this year :D :D

ah many thanks, can place it now, wasnt sure which road it was on, I think the Pinewood and the Kurt are owned by the same people, or have been told they are, they are very similar so would imagine if you liked the Kurt you would like them as well, many thanks for your reply :D just cant wait till next year, our May holiday seems a lifetime away now :( Many thanks Sue

Hi Sue,
If you go out of the Pinewood by the back entrance, ie between the pool block and garden block of apartments, the Kurt is opposite. Or if coming from dajavu instead of turning left at sahin palace to go to Pinewood keep going 20 yards and take a left behind the Pinewood, you can't miss it. They aren't owned by the same people but i visited this year and they look brilliant. Small pool but nice apartments and the owner has his own boats for doing the bay and nightime cruises.

Cheers John

Hi Sue
we stayed at the Kurt in June this year and they are really nice. They are opposite the back entrance of the Pinewood apartments. Very spacious and clean, with a lovely bar and pool area. Mehmet who owns them is lovely and does have his own boat. This however is only like the taxi boats and did not have a toilet onboard so we booked a private boat ourselves. Been to Icmeler 10 times now and think they are one of the nicest complexes we have stayed in. going back 24th Sept for 2 more weeks, can't wait.

We went on the 'Kurt' boat last year and it had all the facilities of the other boats (inc. WC) that we have been on, I wonder if they have downsized, it would be a shame if they have because the boat was lovely last year :(

He had 2 boats, the larger boat you mention was the gentleman boat which he has sold not sure why he sold it though.

I have stayed at the Kurt-never again. The older Mr Kurt is fine and greets and doesn't pester you to eat there etc but Mr Kurt jnr is money mad. As soon as you arrive he pounces and tries to sell you hugely overpriced trips and tells you everyone elses are rubbish, I have noticed if people spend a lot there at the apartments he is all over them but if you like to go out and about like I do he is either very rude or ignores you. I had a few words with him on more than one occasion when he tried overcharging me for aircon, safe etc. If his attitude and manner had been different I would have booked a couple of trips with him, I usually do wherever I stay even if they are a bit more expensive. Its's a shame as the apartments and pool etc were really nice, and the cleaners couldn't have done more. Unless he changes his attitude and starts to care more about his paying guests than making more money all the time then a lot like me will avoid these apartments.
Worse than Basil Fawlty! :(

I have noticed this on a few reports on apartments in Icmeler this year. If you spend money at their apartments on food drink etc they are fine with you, if not you get ignored.

the apartments we stayed at this year(non ICR) were lovely apart from the fact that we did not spend any money there(too mnay good restaurants to visit) and by and large we were ignored. That did not bother us in the slightest.
Numerous other guests over the past few months have also submitted reports saying the exact same thing. yet the reports that say the apartments are fine and everything is wonderful also mention that they spent a bit on food and drink at the apartments

I agree with the last post to the extent that if they don't treat you well (pester you and ignore you if you refuse to eat there) then people will not return to their apartments/hotel.

However, some people need to realise that often the apartments/hotels are getting next to no profit for some people staying at their apartments off particular travel companies (this definately isn't a dig at ICR!). At the end of the day, this means they've got to try and make an extra bit of money from other things i.e. food and drink!

I agreen JonnyH with you when you say that they are working for very little profit with regards to the renting of rooms and therefore are trying to get revenue elsewhere, however I have stayed in apartments before where, yes, they ask you if you would like to have a meal / drink, but if you say no this hasn't affected the way they treat you.

I have also experienced the flip-side of this and it is not a pleasant experience. At the end of the day, people that self-cater will suit themselves, whether that be eating and drinking at the apartments occasionally, all the time, or not all. I don't however feel that this should be a reflection on how you are treated. I personally eat and drink occasionally in whichever apartment I go to, whether that be the odd evening meal, snacks at lunch or a drink round the pool. The frequency will obviously depend on the standard of the food in the first place. Badgering me to eat someone tends to have the opposite effect

No offence taken Johnny as we are not one of those agencies.

We get good places as we pay good money and also pay as you leave the resort unlike others that pay the end of the year.

Don't blame the agencies though as if the owners said no then the rates would go up

I agree, if I am not pestered then I will eat quite often at the apartments but if I am badgered then it will make me determind NOT to eat there. A simple "are you eating here this evening?" should be enough and if you tell them not tonight you do not expect to be asked "why not?" and treated like a leper the next day. Another culprit for this was the Felizia apartments, fabulous rooms and situated not far from everything but was pestered no end to stay in their bar at night. Just puts me off. Is such a shame, it would benefit them to read posts on forums such as this.
