The Magic Garden - Shock Horror

Postby fatblokecaver » 18 Aug 2009 12:52

We have just got back (last night at midnight). Whilst we were aout and about during our last week we spotted an advert in an estate agents window. The Magic Garden is up for sale!!!! £250,000 secures the bar and a 3 bed semi.
We have spoken to the present owners about why and it seems to be the lack of holidays at the end of the season that has made them think of selling.
We are gutted as this is a superb place for a wind down drink and will be sadly missed if it is turned into a 'dance' bar  Lets hope that the new owners keep it as it is - her's hopeing!!!!!

This establishment has been on the market for almost 2years now.Local people consider the asking price as being to much.
We like to spend time at the Magic Garden having a couple of drinks while deciding which retaurant we are heading off to ,agree would like to think that who ever takes over retained the premises as they are at present.

I was waiting for a reply before I put mine on ta John.

I remember it for sale for at least 4 or 5 years now and maybe more but the mind gets a bit fuddled as you grow older, just ask some of our older members they will agree

They may be as well to hang on because it's lovely bar and you can smoke there, no roof. Unlike other bars with limited seating.

This is what I asked, and was told by a fellow member (and I hope they don't mind me doing this):

It is in the alley between the Diva Bar and Titanic restaurant, about 30 or 40 yards past the Juniper hotel, or the other way if you are in the main square near the cash machines, get the Litera hotel on your left and just walk straight ahead, you will come to a bar (iv forgot name for the moment) it is the next bar to right of that. We spent lot's of time in the Magic garden and the other bar i can't remember name of..doh! they are both lovely little friendly bars with great staff where you can chill out. Hope this helps.
