Kumlubuk

Postby julie w » 06 Aug 2009 12:16

Anyone been to Kumlubuk? Just wondered if it is like Turunc and if it's worth a visit, or maybe to go for a meal at night?

Very dead.

Its not a town as such just a few very small hotels (2 or 3) along a shingle beach and you will need a car to get to it at night

Kumlubuk is nice if you fancy a quiet day on the beach.
I've been several times, though not for a couple of years - we always got off at the Didem (think that was the name) jetty which had a nice small sterch of beach with sunbeds and umbereallas and had a pool you could use too and pretty gardens. I like it for its quietness, lunch was always lovely, and the owner used to pick grapes and bring big platefulls out to all the sunbathers.
But as Admin say, there's not much else there there.

We have visited Kumlubuk a few times - but only during the day. The first time we took the boat and as it was early in the season we were the only two people there. We had a lovely relaxing day on the beach. The owner of the little bar at the end of the beach made us lunch - and had to go shopping to get the chicken, salad, etc. first! Nothing was too much trouble and we felt like celebs having the place to ourselves and being so well looked after. On other occasions we have been there with a jeep - usually with friends. We always enjoy venturing out of icmeler to discover "new" places - and then there is always the pleasure of returning to the lovely icmeler for the evening.

The boat that goes to Kumlubuk is this the boat that calls into Turunc before carrying on, does it run backwards and forwards all day or have special times. I am looking for the easiest way as I fancy an a way day and this looks ideal.

There used to be only 2 boats going out to Kumlubuk in the morning (around 10am) - stopping off briefly at Turuc and Amos (Amos is also very nice - pebbly beach and just one restaurant and some houses). But there was only one boat back which picked up at 5pm.

I'm sure if that's changed in the last 12 months someone will correct me.

It's a nice place to go and relax, especially if the place/jetty i mentioned in my previous post is still there, the lady who owned it was talking about selling up but whether she did not not..... There were only about 20 sunbeds on that stretch, the sea is cleaner than Icmeler, very tranquil, lovely lunches, fresh grapes and a dip in their super pool. I really enjoyed my trips there.
