Roughsleepers park - what's going on there?

I can't be the only one who's seen this.

One of the many parks around Icmeler - in this case, the one just up the side road next to the Popin and that supermarket, there is a massive tree in the middle of it. Like many of these parks though, it's just a little piece of grass really.

This one though, there's always some guys sleeping rough there, day or night. When they aren't there, they have tied their bedding UP the tree :P
The general area just around there is a bit scruffy, mostly due to rubbish being strewn around and overflowing bins. Wish the council would clean it more often.

Anyone have any idea what's going on there, with these roughsleepers? No particular reason - I'm just nosy.

To be honest, they don't look like tramps or anything - way too well dressed/normal. I wondered if they're taxi drivers waiting for their pitch to start, or maybe tramps over there are well kempt 8)

I walk this route often and can honestly say have never seen vast amounts of rubbish in this area as the council operate a twice daily rubbish collection and street cleaning service.

I hand over my poll tax happily at the council offices every year for this service and am quite proud of the fact that Icmeler is such a clean resort. After all, what are you getting in the UK for your money? A weekly refuse collection?

Ha! lucky if its collected once a fortnight here.It worried me actually when people said thereis rubbish everywhere as i have never seen it, glad its being collected as nice to see it clean

Ahhh hukay, just wondered. Wasn't being funny or anything  I guessed they might be bus drivers, and it was perhaps a convenient place to catch a kip as opposed to going home.

The week I was there and walked this route every day, there was always boxes of rotting fruit/vegetables piled near the bins, some broken down chairs abandoned, lots of cans and plastic bottles in the grass verges and everywhere, one bottle someone had decided to pee in was left on the corner all week, though perhaps can't blame the council not wanting to rake all this up. Perhaps I was just unlucky seeing all this though

Totally agree on the whole the resort is kept very tidy rubbish wise - despite the attentions of some people who think it's ok to just throw plastic bottles on the floor/grass when finished with. I'm always impressed that when people decide to leave out say sofas, the council picks these up along with the bin collections. In my town, that would still be there.
