Sweet Talking

Postby juejue » 08 Jul 2009 09:45

OK, no holiday booked yet, still due to my working circumstances but after tomorrow everything could change. Right if so how do I sweet talk my other half into booking for Turkey. There are not many flights available now - we break up on 14th August for 2 weeks. He just doesn't fancy Icmeler this year as he says it is the same every year. Suggestions on the sweet talking and please guys keep it clean :!:

When I get this with Phill, I remind him how he enjoys going to see friends he has made over the years, I talk about good nights we have had in the past etc etc.

Then I bring up previous holidays to other parts of the world, reminding him how we hated it after 2 days and that if we go somewhere different that could happen again and what a miserable two weeks we could have.

It always works and this year he hasn't even suggested to go anywhere else, I think he has the same bug as me and all you other Icmelerites now.

Good luck in the sweet talking and if all else fails, just tell him that you are on strike

My hubby also does that from time to time - we've been trying to get flights booked for October, but they're looking very very expensive, so he's been muttering about maybe going elsewhere if it would be cheaper! :(

Got to get my next fix of Icmeler though - and daughter is desperate to come back with us, as she missed out on our June trip as she's across in America working as a camp counselor for three months.

I've been goin to Icmeler for years, last year we tried something different as we were getting a bit fed up, we went to Cuba All Inclusive had a fantastic time and it works out cheaper.
Came back from there three weeks ago, sorry everybody but Icmeler you can keep it.

I'm sure the vast majority of us on here will be more than happy to keep Icmeler for ourselves, tommo! :D

Cuba = mossies the size of sparrows

Having said that though, I fancy there one day, but we're 100% stuck to school hols, so it aint gonna work out cheaper for us ;)

Oh, and cheaper it might be, but something you always have to remember about all inclusive - the food may be plentiful and included, but it won't beat freshly made in a different restaurant every night.

*One exception I've been told by a friend, is a place in Cyprus called Paphian Sun in Paphos I think, the food was apparently unbelievably good, but I don't know personally, so if anyone ever goes and it's crud, don't be blaming me :P

Re Tommos Cuba comments
Having my first vsit to Icmeler in Sept but know Cuba well .

Its a fantastic and unique place but its current conditions and appeal are not likely to last much beyond the death of Fidel Castro ( I know hes retired but he is still the power behind the throne ) . Obama and America will start having much more influence on Cuba and it is certain to change - for the better , not in my opinion !!
Ive stayed mainly on the varaderro peninsular but seen a fair bit of the island and would not fancy a theme park at the Bay of Pigs .

Having had my rant and of course its just my opinion and im not anti american cos ive loved my visits there and Cuba is a poor country and does need help but im pleased my visits have been now and not ten years from now.
