one of my work mates has returned to work today having just got back from icmeler yesterday. it was her and her hubby's first time to turkey and she had been really apprehensive about going, but as they got a good deal and much, much persuasion from me they decided to try it and.........guess what? they had a brill time and are going back next year.

she loved the food, the people, the resort, the weather. everything.

she even managed to track down my friend aziz who is working in masalla restaurant and enjoyed some banter with him.

the good thing is, a lot of my work mates are (or were) of the "I don't think I fancy Turkey" brigade, but now there's two of us flying the flag for icmeler perhaps they might have a wee re-think. here's hoping.

Nice to hear that - to be honest, I've never met anyone yet who hasn't loved the place as much as we all obviously do! What's NOT to love about Icmeler?

My soon to be mother and father-in-law took their first trip to Turkey last year. They stayed in the Hotel Marti half board and came home with rave reviews and had a fantastic holiday. They returned to the resort and the Marti hotel last month on an AI deal and once again had a brilliant time.

They have since booked to return in June 2010.

The fact that they travel abroad three times a year and are returning to Icmeler for the 3rd time in three years speaks volumes.

Quite agree, its always the people who have never been who have all the strong views. Over the years we have persuaded one or two to try Icmeler and lo and behold they all came back raving and have since returned. Goes to prove you shouldn't knock it untill you have tried it

Same here, I'm sick of people saying 'we don't fancy Turkey', the few that we have persuaded to go are now regulars

I have now managed to get couple of my friends to try Turkey with their families and they all had a great time (after members of the families never wanted to go to Turkey - both went to Icmeler :) ).

Then a friend last year asked my opinion on holiday destination between Greece and Turkey and they knew what my answer would be and low and behold they also went to Icmeler and had a great time and thanked me for introducing them to Turkey - as even on the coach transfer were aprehensive as to what they were letting themselves in for.

Work colleague who also thought that they wouldn't go to Turkey - after me going on about it and when looking for a good deal got one for Turkey (not Icmeler :() has now returned after having a great time and will definatley go back to Turkey.

It's amazing the amount of people who say they wouldn't go and then once they've been realise what they have been missing out on!

We were the same, took our friends ages to persuade us to join then on their first trip to Turkey in 2002, we have not been anywhere else since and have already booked for next year.
