Postby sunnylady » 29 Jun 2009 19:25

Hi,
was wondering if anywhere sells designer clothes in Icmeler or Marmaris? Son likes gstar, firetrap and was wondering if he could get any.
Do they sell Radley handbags etc also?

Where do you guys go to get the Genuine Fakes that look like the real thing?

Everything we have seen in the shops has been OK, but you can spot it's fake a mile off (well my Mrs can anyway).

The best things i've seen, are the under the counter watches a couple of the shops sell, but you pays your price for them. Last year one had a perfect copy of the Omega Seamaster 007, but he wanted £200 for it. Miles better than the stuff on the shelves for 30-40 quid.

Some of the T-shirts make me laugh, where the same style t-shirt on the same stall, have Diesel, Nike, Armani or Boss logos on them, and in different colours too. lol.

My daughter's friend and I both bought 'Chloe' Paddington bags last year - well, she compared hers to her other friend's real Chloe bag and the difference was hardly noticeable at all. For "genuine" fakes, they are actually really good quality bags - real leather too - and mine is used virtually every day and still looks fantastic.

em there is many shops that if you get to know the people they will give you a good deal
the better looking items will obviously cost you more
but try the market you normally get a good deal there
just be prepared to haggle :P

I must agree the fakes are good fakes. There is a lot of places to go you can't miss them, we bought a lot of stuff in the underground market last year. I saw a guy in a shop last year with his son and missus and he wanted a tracksuit for his lad, the guy in the shop knocked off over 75% of the price, he still wouldn't pay...tight git. Beautiful tracksuit as well. He was from yorkshire, are they all penny pinchers.

aw bless
yeah most of them just want a sale and at the end of the season they are more likely to go lower on their price as they want their stock sold :)

I don't shop for handbags but my kids do like Greenhouse clothes shop in the square. The jeans seem to be better quality there. You can get GStar, Henleys etc in lots of places I think it's just a case of shopping around and having an idea of what you are willing to pay

You'll be spoiled for choices for places to shop, to be honest. Apart from the Wednesday market and the underground market, there are plenty of shops, as well as all the little stalls lining the canal towards the beach end.

I would have killed for a decent Radley lookalike last year.

Some shops like the ones next to Vinces get the clothes and jeans from factory they're made at in Turkey so the quality is as a good as the ones from the designer shops over here. only trouble is you cant then sell them on via Ebay when you're fed up with them or grow out etc.

However you have your cheap far east imports which are the ones that are fit for not very much. I think we become more discerning with what we'll part our cash for.

The bags there's a been a few good shops where the price is dearer £25 and over but its leather (i've got a pink prada) still going strong but then there's the plastic ones hung outside on shops or on the shelves that are plastic and not worth it.

We got a good Henlys one last year for £10 reduced from £13 looks like one from the Bank, hubbys saved it for this years hols (dont know why) but hey ho.

Sunglasses tend to be not brilliant or quite dear for what they are compared with being luck and going to TK MAxx or buying on Ebay.

Duvets, tablecloths, towels have been good buys for me and those fab turkish glass lanterns. Also i have a turkish rug which gets a hammering, if you can find a carpet shop these days get one.

Not actually sure where there is a carpet shop these days in icmeler I got mine from the bloke on the corner which is now a bank and cash machine.

6 weeks to go to my hols. yeay

One thing I couldn't find there anywhere (and I asked) was fake stone island, I'd have loved some of that. The worst fakes I saw though were everything burberry..they were terrible copys.

hi sirkyboy,

if you give the clothes a decent inspection, (making sure the logos aren't too dodgy looking) you can pick up some good quality fakes.

I've used Honest Johns (across from Deja vu), Greenhouse in the square and Metropol sports for lacoste polos and shirts over the years (ok, you won't get 3 for a tenner) but none of my pals back here, who like their labels, aren't any the wiser. I also got a pair of fake armani jeans in the underground market last year for about £20 and so far they've been a good buy.

agree with adewolves, they can't seem to get the burberry logo right at all and I've never seen any stone island after much searching, but nearly everything else is available.
