Hiya there....first time poster here!!

Just thought i'd let you know that the renovations on the Waterfall/Fat Willies are coming along a treat....

The reason i know, is that a very good friend of mine is with Josh, one of the owners, and she'll also be working in the bar in summer.

The guys from these places are all genuinely nice people, and i wish them all the luck in the world.....although, we all know how hard they work, so luck probably has NOTHING to do with it!!

Another bar to try out, for anyone who doesnt know it, is Liberty, next door to Harmony. It is annexed to the Marbas Hotel, but unfortunately, tends to get over-shadowed by Harmony and Deniz Kapisi.

Lovely staff, entertainment every night, and NO 'Techno' music, to the relief of us oldies!!

Anyway, give it a whirl....

Kendine iyi bak,

Tracy XX :D

The restaurent is still called The Waterfall but the bar in front is called Oscars Fun Pub.
The restaurent provides excellant meals while the bar in front provides all the dancing and music.

Dave is back at Captain Silver apartments running the bar there.

Eeee I no josh lol!!

I've known Mehmet years. Josh, Mehmet and Oscar (the owners) are all lovely but Mehmet is my sweetheart

The Waterfall is much better since its been worked on, there's more seating and there is a bar in the corner.

I wish all the guys in the Waterfall and Oscar's all the luck in the world!!!

Oscars/Waterfall

Hi All
Going to Icmeler on Sunday can't wait. I'm sure the new bar, etc will be fab. Spoke to Mehmet yesterday and he would like some Gouda cheese. So if anyone is going back later this year and want to take him a pressie this is his ideal gift, oh and maybe some black socks, bless him!

Oscars Fun Pub in May was a good night out, but sorry Oscar have just returned on 29 August and found it to be one of the most boring evenings we had untill we up and left.
A fun pub should be what it says not some jaded DJ from Manchester churning out the same records every night that in his own words are "That he is the only Englishman in Icmeler with these songs"

Bring back the dancers and again get involved with the bar.

Hi Gene

I wonder why,all of a sudden, there is an influx of english people working in icmeler, don't go till September, but ,I would imagine that it changes the atmosphere of the place, sad really,we don't want English dave or whatever may be their name, playing their own taste in music,WE WANT TURKISH DJ's :!: :!: :!: Think I might think about another holiday destination for next year, depending on how it goes in September

200 up Debi congratulations.
Yes quite a few involved in the bars etc.
I like to hear the local DJs telling me whats being played,I am abroad and want to hear the language being spoken.

Debi you have as much chance of booking something different as I have of platting water, there is only one place and you are going to it.

Ricky the DJ and Dave from Charlys are the two guys who used to work at Linakers below the Cartier Hotel last year, didnt like them then neither.

I have to agree with you Debi. I have been to Icmeler 12 times but feel it is not the same place. We visited Turunc for the first time ever and to our surprise we liked it. We still like Icmeler and have had wonderful holidays there. This year we walked up many of the back streets and came across mor of the original places you foundin Icmeler- more tradition. We have ate and drank in the Waterfall from our first time in Icmeler- the food and the setting are still wonderful. This year we were eating when Metin came and asked us if we knew Ayhan who use to work their, if so he was sitting on the bean bags- we met him and his wife ( Ellis who also worked there) the first year we were in Icmeler- It made my evening. We have many fond memories of the Waterfall. PS excuse my spelling

I have just returned from another visit of Icmeler and i spent every night of my holiday in Oscars bar and i thought i would let you all know that Kirk, the english DJ, is no longer working there and to be honest i dont think he will be there next season either.

Hi
I agree with the comments about the DJ and the choice of music. 60s and 70s fine but mix it with some traditional Turkish music after all we are in Turkey. The Twist doesn't really do it for me. As Scousebabe said the DJs won't be back next year so maybe we will get what we want.

wow i cant believe kirk is gone! he didnt last long lol.
i totally agree about the comments made about him, he's a nice fella but he killed the atmosphere with all that old music, i haven't heard of most of it. i'm going back on the 17th (for the fourth time this year, how lucky am i!) so i'll get all the goss and let u all know

its also nice to here people say nice things about mehmet (he's my boyf) metin is crazy isnt he, lovely lad tho.

How strange about Kirk, we were only saying yesterday that it would be better if they had a Turkish DJ and played the same music as they did when they had OB's.

I suppose it is different strokes for different folks as I am not into watching break dancers or jugglers or even men dressed as women in bars but hey that is just me and we all like our own things.

At the moment Kirk is back in Linekers and though I haven't been in there for a while I do have a walk around Icmeler every night and beside the obvious full house t Venice to watch the show the only bar that is busy at all is Kirks 60,70 and motown evening.

I haven't got down to see Osgar yet this week but will probably pop in to see him tonight and will let you all know of the situation down there.
