EFES HOTEL

Postby CHUCHTER » 10 Jun 2009 23:08

Has anyone recently stayed here? We are due to stay for 2 wks in sept, does anyone know if you can get full english in hotel or is it just continental breakfast? Are there fridges and air conditioning in all rooms and is there any charge for air con? Are there hairdryers in rooms? Is the best advice still to take small amount of turkish lira and change currency over there?

Hi

We stayed there in May and it was our second visit to the Efes.

The staff are lovely and friendly, will do anything for you, however cannot comment on the breakfast I know it is Turkish but we never got up in time to have any, I know that they serve food in the pool bar/restaurant during the day but dont know what time they start.

We went half board and I have to say that the food is one of the best I have had in Icmeler, it is not a buffet or set menu you just choose what ever you like from their normal menu.

They have fridges and hairdryers in the room, however would recommend you take your own hair dryer if you have long hair as the one in the rooms is slow and you have to keep your finger pressed down on the button which is a pain, the rooms are lovely and spacious. There is air con in the rooms and it is included in the price.

You will love this hotel, cant fault it in anyway. :D

Hi Chutcher

The Efes Inn doesnt offer english breakfast on their b & b, however you can buy these from their pool bar and they are one of the best I have had in Icmeler, they also offer bacon sandwiches, scrambled egg etc. The continental breakfast consists of the usual boiled eggs, cereals, toast, jams etc.
With regards to the hairdryer, I totally agree its not for long hair! and is prone to overheat and turn itself off for an hour or so until its cooled so probably best taking your own. The fridges are fully stocked with a mini bar (cans of pop and bottles of water and also cans of efes) and they are charged at the normal rate which is good. The only problem is by the time they stock the fridge there isnt much room for anything else!
Air conditioning got installed last year after complaints about the old system and it really does the trick-make sure you keep your balcony door closed otherwise it wont work properly. It also is done by remote control which is even better. Its included in the price
Fantastic Hotel though :D

I can only agree with the previous posters.

The Efes is the best hotel for friendlyness we have stayed in. The food is spot on, and the full english brekkie, is extra, but well worth it.

Make sure you get the leg of lamb, on a sunday, You wont go far wrong.

Fantastic Hotel

Have stayed there 5 times, since 1999. Didn't stay there last year because of the air conditioning being poor - but still popped in to see the staff. When they asked us why we were not stopping there, and we explained, they insisted that we take a look in one of the empty rooms to see the new air con units - we could have kicked ourselves !!

So, guess which hotel I'm going to be stopping in next week when I am there ?!?!?!

This Hotel is perfect. Excellant location, staff, pool, rooms, views......

3 days and counting !!
