I'm trying to book accomodation for a friend from work through ICR. Does anyone know if you can pay by cheque, as her card keeps comeing back declined even though she has more than enough money in the account.

When I was booking my accomodation John said you can pay by cheque but I ended up paying by card. I think they accept paypal too.

She doesnt have a paypal account and as she has given me her card details I don't want to start setting up paypal accounts and stuff. So I will just tell her to give them a call tomorrow and post a cheque to them.

Hi Steve
yes you can pay by cheque I had the option to pay that way but paid using pay-pal
when you book they will give you the address in liverpool where you need to send the cheque with the booking ref number written on the back
Hope this helps

Thanks. I will let her know. It's since the banks introduced those verification things where if asks you security questions, I know they are there to help but can be a pain sometimes as if you can't remember what security questions you gave to the bank they wont accept the payment.

Hi Steve
I had same problem when paying for my holiday, using any of my cards,

it did finally go through. I think there is a couple of bugs in the system.
But so long as payment is made I dont think the way it is paid matters.

There are definitely no bugs in our system but the banks do have security measures in line to stop online thieving so blame them.
Also we do not accept debit cards only credit cards

I knew it wasn't your system. It was a debit card so that is probably why. My friend has given me permission to set a paypal account up in her name as she's not very computer literate so I am going to do it now.

Hi
if the company is ABTA/ATOL bonded you will be able to get your money back no matter how you pay
Paying by credit card is different you can claim the money back from your card company and it is then up to them to claim it back under which ever scheme the travel company belongs to
ICR have ABTA/ATOL bonded flights and their accomodation is bonded by TURSAB which is just like ABTA/ATOL so you would be covered if they went bust

I, too have had problems paying by Visa, despite plenty of funds...it is their security system, and despite numerous phone calls to Barclaycard, they had to re-set my date of birth, which, for some reason they had incorrectly, and then proceeded to tell me I now have to wait for 7 days before I can try again!!!!
I just sent a cheque in the end

Maybe
ICR could do with getting this sorted because my friend really wanted to get this booked before her partner got back from working away as it's a suprise. She actually booked elsewhere now and had no problems useing her card. Sorry ICR I did try to get her to contact you to sort it out.
