Excel Airlines/Kosmar Holidays

Hi folks, you might want to get comfy for this one, here goes! We booked with Kosmar last July to go to the Kurt Apartments, Icmeler in July this year. We were all looking forward to going back to these apartments and have just over 7 weeks to go. Yesterday, I phoned my travel agent to find out if there had been any changes to our flight times and they said they'd get back to me. Today they got back to me and guess what! Excel have cancelled all their Glasgow flights with Kosmar for this summer. So Kosmar have no plane to take us to Turkey!!!! The travel agent said we could fly from Newcastle or Manchester, but we live right smack in the middle of two airports - Glasgow and Edinburgh, and don't want to travel any further. The only option left was for us to cancell our holiday to the Kurt Apartments and re-book with another travel company. We were not at all happy with this, and the only seats we could get was with Scottravel, flying with Pegasus Airline and staying in the Bahar Apartments. Does anyone know what these apartments are like? Please tell us they are brilliant as I don't think I can take anymore bad news, as when I phoned the minibus driver who is taking us to the airport, he informed me that as our flight times have changed, he can take us to the airport, but we will have to wait for up to 2 hours on our return for him to come back as he has another run! AAAAAHHHHH! Needless to say we are really teed off at Excel Airlines who started this catastrophy.

The Bahar Apartments are up in the Old village, plenty of bars restaurents roundabout.
Have had a couple of BBQs at the Bahar and they were good nights out
Pool area is ok with beds and brollies also a poolside bar.
About 15 mins walk into town 20 mins to the beach.

I dont see any problem staying in these apartments and think you will have a great holiday.

thanks Gene, they look lovely in the brochure, but until someone has been in them you just don't know and I think I've had enough bad news today. We stayed in the Kurt Apts last year and the travel agent said that the Bahar was 2 minutes away from them, so we know the area. Hubby is in a bad mood since I came home and told him and went in a huff, but I said we may enjoy these apartments more - positive thinking! hope it works. 7 weeks on monday till we go, so I suppose we'll find out then.

thanks

ps. Colette, got logged on, forgot i'd changed my password! DOH!!!
just the day I've had, work with children and they were horrendous today, then I got this news at lunchtime and the day went downhill. Tomorrow can't be as bad  8)

Believe me we will for next year, still getting the run around with our flights. Scottravel say the Pegasus flights leaves 09.30 on the monday morning, returning 08.40 two weeks later. But on Glasgow Airport site, the flights are 20. something at night leaving and returning about the same at night. Grrrrrrr. Went into travel agents today and they phoned Scottravel and were given the flight numbers, they match the nightime flights???????? Well we wil wait till monday and look at the departure and arrivals to find out.

Sorry you're having so much trouble, we're in a similar situation. Our Pegasus flight from Edinburgh on a Monday night has been cancelled. We're now travelling on the Friday from Glasgow, time unknown right now but I'm about to descend on my travel agent tomorrow. I've emailed ABTA about all the flight cancellations to Turkey this year, will let you know what they say. The bottom line is as long as I get to Icmeler I don't really care what time the flight is. Hope you enjoy your holiday when you eventually get there

Hi Dotty, don't tell me we are now going to have problems with Pegasus. Our rearranged holiday with Scottravel is flying with Pegasus. We were given flight times of 09.30 flying out on monday 3rd July, returning at 08.55 on monday 17th July, when I looked on Glasgow Airport website, there is no Scottravel/Pegasus flights at this time. Yesterday I went back to my travel agents and they phoned Scottravel who said that as far as they know the times we were given were correct, and gave us the flight codes. When I went home I again looked on the airport site and there is a Scottravel/Pegasus flight but it's at 2045 on the monday going out and returning at 1945. It does state that the operating period is 05/06-30/10, so I'm hoping that this IS the flight as the flight number is the same as the ones Scottravel gave us, but who knows. As you say as long as we get there we don't care what time the flight is as long as we are on one to Turkey! We will enjoy ourselves once there and can't wait 7 weeks and 3 days to go and counting. If there is anymore changes to our holiday then I'm going to start walking! I'll be the woman with huge blisters if anyone sees me!
