been watching some on you tube we went on one few years ago is was ok driver was not chatty so thought we would not go again but some of these look a good laugh you had water guns another called dunk tub dont know whats that all about but would like to try it again anyone been on them

I love the jeep safaris, best fun day out ever. If you are a chatty one like me, just talk to the drivers and squirt them with the water pistols, they soon come around.

The one we had last year we kept teasing him, asking if he would have preferred to stay in bed etc, he soon got into the banter of the day and guess who he picked on going in the dunk tub and through the big pool of water? Yeah, only me

the one we went on did not have the guns it was a boring one this is my thing hubby will love this did you get this from here or by the beach my son just rang he loves icmeler been turkish baths and loved the stella show

pity you was not their now my sons girlfreind tires herself out so last night he went into mamaris by himself he said wish some members were here so he could have a drink with them told him to pop into vinces someone might be their said i cant walk up to strangers and say you from icmeler online poor love

he said he will he has seen photos of donna and seen the dvd so hes got an idea you must be really excited are you packed you doing any trips apart from the jeep

Not packed yet, I am leaving it until Sunday as we had new holdall cases this year, so less chance of creasing.

Probably do a boat trip as well a a jeep safari, will go and see Donna Mon or Tues and book them up.
Then going to have a drink with Ash on Friday to celebrate her 1st wedding anniversary, pop to Vinces later, then just going around to visit friends in Icmeler and Marmaris.

Really excited now.

Well, I have mixed feelings about these jeep safaris.

We booked one, and didn't know about the water aspect. We were told the kids could use water pistols, but thought apart from this, it was just a bit of off roading, some dusty roads, and being able to explore some out of the way areas. WRONG.

First off, they announced that they no longer could use water pistols, as the police were cracking down, but we were welcome to improvise with water bottles, as long as we didn't on the roads in view of the police, otherwise they would be fined.

Great! One jeep was occupied with some "chavs" who seemed to have discovered Marmaris At every opportunity, they were not only throwing water bottles, but as the jeeps jostled for position (The drivers finding this great fun to overtake and cut up each other), as they overtook, they were emptying those 5 litre bottles over everyone.

These huge bottles they would fill at every stop - including river water and dirty pond water. At one stop, one chav got hold of a hosepipe and decided to turn it on our jeep where we had just got in after lunch, the girls were applying suncream, had handbags out, were adjusting cameras. I went mad at him, and the driver had to keep me calmed down from jumping out and frankly flattening this chav. The rest of the chavs and chavettes started a "boring" chant - boring for objecting to this mindless idiot turning hoses on people.

Later the jeep driver pretended to break down in the middle of a dirty river, an excuse for all the other drivers to drive at speed and drench us in pondweed laden water.

The family in the jeep with us we met the day after, and they'd had to take their youngest to the doctors for an expensive treatment for a problem caused by this dirty water.

The drivers/organisers, at one point they grabbed this young girl, and threw her in the dirty river, despite her pleading to be put down and left alone. She was bruised and had some clothes damaged, very upset these people just ignore the requests of their customers.

Oh, and as everyone would probably testify, these jeep safaris have an arrangement to drop their captive audience at extortionately priced cafes. Thankfully none of our party were ill from the cold to lukewarm chicken provided - though we mostly left it so that probably helped.

I'm not just moaning - a lot of it was fun, and I'm glad I took part - but....and it's a big but......these safaris, well do be certain you know what you're getting yourself into - as soon as you are just about dry - you will be once again very drenched one way or another, and one driver admitted to me that it's not unusual for patrons to get annoyed by the selfish antics of other patrons, and for it to end up in a fist fight.

what a shame when we went on one it was a few years ago and it did not have any water guns but their are lots of good ones i want to try one again i will wear old t shirt and shorts

We went on the jeep safari last year - read a few posts on this forum and knew what to expect. We had a cracking time, including my parents who, at first, were reluctant to do this type of trip and get a good soaking.

There were 9 of our family piled into one jeep and there were about 30 - 40 jeeps in our convey, all except one vehicle had water guns which were issued to us at our meeting point in Marmaris. Lets just say they made a big mistake

Yes all the jeeps drove through water, yes they actually stopped the jeeps under a hose pipe - for a few minutes - but it was nice to cool down. They do stop at cafe's to get fresh water, and they are overpriced, but you don't have to buy anything - your meal is included in the price. Your not allowed to squirt the drivers, or use dirty/salt water, and you can't squirt the pistols while travelling on main roads.

A few tips: Don't take camera's, don't take handbags - you don't need them. All you need is a water gun, plenty of clean water and an old pair of shorts and T'shirt that you don't mind getting filthy.

Sheepy we were on one of those keep safaris from hell a few years back,having dirty water poured over us and even more when we asked them not to do it,stopping in the dirty pond without being warned or given chance to get off the jeep,the more i asked the other jeep (full of dutch)not to do it the more they laughed at us,at the time my son suffered from severe excema which could have been dodgy if the dirty water went into the sores.People will probably say you shouldnt have taken him on a jeep safari because of the dust etc but we kept him covered as much as we could and didnt expect to have dirty pond water thrown over us.

their are good ones and bad ones i will ask donna when we come over i want one with the water guns be a laugh am sorry yours was a bad one

I got my old bikini top and shorts in the suitcase packed, will pop in to see Donna on Tuesday and I am looking forward to another fun day in the jeep.

Yes, we went last week.

It was one ran by "dream boat" - well that was the name on the receipt, if that's any help

Have done this twice now 1st one was a disappointment as me and mum were the only British the rest 3 jeeps full of Germans who were not in the water fighting spirit - needless to say our driver made sure we were soaked - we did enjoy it but wasn't what we had expected after reading all the reviews.

Then we done one the following year and it was exactly what we had expected the first time - hadn't realised you could have so much fun with a water gun as an adult we laughed from start to finish, were filthy and soaked but a great day was had.

Would definately recommend it.
