A Robbie Burns night being Scottish bar
Race Night
Poker Night
all diffrent than the standard bars

By the way where is the bar located

Hi Donna,

The Scotia Bar now there's a blast from the past! That was my "home" in the early eighties in Glasgow and do you know its one of the oldest bars in Glasgow! I met Billy Conolly there once and he was a bit upset no one had recognised him at the time because he had shaved off his trademark beard for a film part! The Blue Angels bikers were also regulars there and we had a great time at nights! Here's a link to that famous pub http://scotiabar.net/.
Anyway here are a few ideas for the guys!

Wear kilts and highlander shirts (keep you all cool in the summer ) also looks smart and would be draw for the ladies!!!
Don't have too much tartan tat and especially not too many "jimmy hats"
Exclusive Scottish football on TV
Celidh nights with Scottish and Turkish folk music, Turkish and Scottish country dancing!
Runrig, Capercaille and the pipes and drums for background music
Haggis and neeps, scotch pies, Irn Bru, scottish breakfasts with black pudding and wee willy winkies!
Don't need to ask for the warm hospitality cause the Turks have it in abundance.

Can I ask where it is cause were out in July and would love to check it out?

Don't know about the racing and poker nights. Isn't gambling illegal in Turkey except for betting on football. Loved to see it though, different.

Then again with the weight of our kilts that would take us over our luggage allowance,HHmm, I will find a way

And ( I am probably wrong ) yet I was thinking Is there not a Turkish type of bagpipe instrument and music.. that is similar to the Scotish bagpipe and music . That might make for a good night.

Most of all try and have a good balance between the two cultures.

the turkish bagpipe is called a Tulum and originated from the middle east.
Its the same origin as the scots bagpipe so the Scots and Turks are bagpipe playing cousins!!!!!! Thats why we get on so well with them!!!

hi folks, we went into this bar last year, it was okay, dont really like "tartanised" places, they usually go down the football road which is not a good idea in a family resort and we for one wouldnt touch somewhere like this with a barge pole. Are there any scottish people working in it?, fellow scots will know when you get a group of us together we can have a great time, good humoured lot that we are...if it is done properly it would be a great success, but please no bay city rollers!!, etc..stovies, tattie scones, some real "Drambuie" would go down a treat...

ps: donna, if you ask them if they would like some "scottish"mementoes, saltire flag, etc (PM) us and we will bring over in june....
