mosquitos in early may

Think I have spelt mosquito right, anyone flying out in next week or so watch out for the mozzies. I think they woke up especially for my visit last week, they got me and my daughter never bothered with my hubby, I always seem to attract them. We normally go to icmeler in September and have never been got, but this time I took no repellant with me or my plug ins thinking it would too early for them  So the first night there, they took one look at my left leg and must have thought party time. Apparently according to the locals early season the nights are cooler, so these mozzies are not daft and move indoors for the night. Just thought i would let you all know. I usually take loads of Avon Skin So soft moisturising dry oil spray (woodland fresh) there something in it that they dont like. Would you believe there was no avon lady to be found in Icmeler just when you need one.

Perhaps thats a Niche Market then ....... we could move out there and become Avon Ladies??????

Mozzies like me too but I use the Avon after sun with repellent in it, that works for me. :)

I must sound really sad going on about them just didnt want anyone who is due to go out there to think same as me, I am not even an avon lady myself. Should be on commission for my next hol to Icmeler. Julie

I find that the more gin and tonic I drink, the less likely I am to get bitten by the little devils. Seems to work a treat so I'd better do plenty of the same when I go out at the end of next week (as if I really need an excuse!). :D :D

Thanks for that Lancashire Lass, I'm going on the 18th, and I didn't think that there would be a mozzie problem
Well, i'm all equipped
Have woodland fresh, S.S.S dry oil spray, soap ,shower gel, moisturiser.
I may not get any sun, but I should be bite less (hope) and have really soft skin!

We always take garlic tablets 14 days before we go and whilst we are away and I must say that in all the years I have been abroad we have never been bit once. Might be luck bu I aint taking no chances. Di :)

I swear by taking the wife.
The mozzies just love her and leave me alone.

On a seriouse note in late May and August we hardly have any problems with the mozzies due to the lorry going round the town spraying,
this kills the blighters off.
We just put some mozzie repellant on at night as a precaution.

Tut Tut Gene I dont know how your wife puts up with you.

SSS works for me.

Mossies love my hubby bought him bands from QVC this year for us going in May (Oh its next week) you can wear them or hang them on the bed
will let you know if they work.

as Gene says they spray the area at night which helps keep them down.

Just make sure it's indian tonic, that's the stuff that contains quinine.

Forgot at about that Bl@@dy mozzie lorrry- its a great way to end a night with a mouthful of what it sprays. 2 years ago we found we were being bit during the day so the following year came protected with the Boots suntan cream with repellent. I react to the bites and have ended up visiting the chemist on more than one occassion. Use all the protection at night- and thats just to keep the mozzies away. Mozzies are one thing in my life that I can say really love me.
