Icmeler Online Holiday Forum & Reviews - Turkey

Are there any bars in Icmeler (or Marmaris) that play guitar music - stuff like Oasis, The Smiths, Stone Roses, The Killers, or even older stuff like The Jam, The Who, Beatles, Kinks etc. Or is it all europop and dance?

Many bars play various sounds from old Irish ones like "Paddy McGintys Goat to Killers "Human" to 60's, but most bars will accommodate any requests you are after, and if they dont have it, they will go out of their way to get it for you.

i like your taste in music.you cant beat them bands.
me and my wife used to go in the sportsbar opposite the top of the canal for late drinks cos they always played the sort of tunes your after.and they seemed to keep the music on low a bit later aswell which is a bonus.
i dunno the proper name of the bar though.its the one on the corner on the other side of road..
morrissey tommorrow night at the apollo for me.then icmeler in august.

not sure of the name of the bar but it is on the beach front with a guy who looks abit like john lennon (r.i.p) playing the guitar and singing, he was quite good and played all types of music 60s up to date. go to the bottom of the canal and go left sorry cant remember the name. maybe others on the forum will know the bar/rest.

The bar on the beach is called the Bamboo Restaurant. They have a resident guitarist called Murfit who plays music from the 60's, 70's, 80's and any other era that you wish. He is very good and does not play anything heavy while you are eating your meal. Nice restaurant for a meal and to people watch! (this is what us women like) ha ha ha.

ps Redmanc78 - couldn't get tickets for the Morrissey gig unfortunately. Bet tonights gig is going to be a bit special with it being his 50th today!

When we were there 2 years ago, La Grotta had live guitar music in the evenings. This bar /restaurant is along the beach front, on the Marmaris side of the canal

The bar redmanc78 is referring to is simply known as the sports bar and is part of the Devamli hotel.

As redmanc78 says the hotel and bar sits just at the top of the canal
