Just realised what we will miss this year!

Postby jejo » 04 May 2009 21:17

Hi everyone, for the first time in 5 years we are not going to Icmeler this year. As it is our silver wedding anniversary, we treated ourselves to a luxury holiday in Cuba and we are looking forward to it. BUT - today we got the camcorder out and went through our discs to sort them out. We ended up watching all the discs from last years holiday and now we are soooo sad, it feels like we will miss part of our family! I wish we could afford to go to Icmeler as well. Oh well at least we will be back in 2010. We always end up with our family with us and they're not happy either as they can't go. Funny that they could have went without us, now I think it might be because mum and dad ended up paying for most of their holiday! I'm sure all 5 of us (and partners) will be back with bells on. Thanks for listening to my rant as I'm feeling sorry for myself. Maybe I could win the lottery then we definately would be going home!! Please keep adding your reviews when you have all been so at least we live Icmeler through everyone else.

Must be a lot of us celebrating silver weddings this year - we're celebrating ours in our favourite place (Icmeler of course!) in June, and I know there have been a couple of others saying it's their 25th this year too! Congratulations to all!

Last year felt that Icmeler had become a little bit "jaded" and have now booked for the Canaries in June but now I think I have made a mistake and wish I had booked Icmeler. Will have to bite the bullet and enjoy it but hopefully it will remind me how special Icmeler is.

Hope you all have a great hol

Congratulations on your 25th, hope you enjoy. We have the same problem next year, its ours and we want to spend it in Icmeler as we always do every October but the kids want us to be home with them. At the moment the OH is saying he will go and the kids are pulling faces. Suppose something will get sorted eventually

Thanks everyone for all your kind words. It's not just Icmeler that has lovely friendly people, but this site as well. We will enjoy Cuba, but I'm sure part of us will be in Icmeler. Anyone going the first 2 weeks of July 2010 we will see you there.

Hi
It's also our silver wedding anniversary in July. We have been to our beloved Icmeler about 10 times now. Tried Spain again 2 years ago and didn't enjoy it at all, also tried Ovacik, quite nice but no where near as good as Icmeler and last year spent a fortune going to Florida and spent the whole time wishing we were in Icmeler. Wanted to celebrate our anniversary in Icmeler but as its 21st July thought it would too hot, so going 22nd June for 15 nights so will be celebrating just before we return home. Thing is which of our favourite restaurants to celebrate in, 7 of us going to Kurt apartments, booked with ICR, excellent value, fantastic service. Less than 7 weeks now. Can't wait :D

We had a break from Icmler about 2 years ago we went to Zante for a week in Sept, stayed in Alykes.

The beaches were proper sand and views to KEfalonia gorgeous ( i do wish we had proper sand in Icmeler) but the people and the food just weren't the same. And no bartering now that was strange.

There was no banter walking down the st, no happy flirty waiters. The traditional Greek food wasn't as nice as we'd had years before.

And you'd expect a week to fly by but it didnt, it felt like a fortnight so that should speak volumes.

Cuba you should love especially all that vintage 50's stuff, my boss went and loved it and was Salsa dancing the night away etc.

Its our 20th next year and am wondering what to do, maybe go to a hotel in Icmeler rather than self catering as a bit more of a treat.

Any holiday opportunity is good in current climates.

Have a fab time.
