Apartment help & Hello!!

Postby Teddybex » 02 May 2009 15:06

I'm new to the forum so it's only polite if I say Hello to everyone first :) I was recommended to the forum by someone on Tripadvisor as the Icmeler forum on there seems a little slow. I'm hoping you guys will be able to give me lots of advice as I've never been to Icmeler before (only been to Olu Deniz).
I'm having trouble deciding which apartments to book, there seem to be so many with conflicting reviews.
We're after somewhere within a short walk of the beach and centre. Don't mind if it's an apartment or a hotel. We'd prefer 3 star or higher. We don't usually spend much time in the apartments as we're beach people so it'll be just somewhere to sleep and get showered really and we'll be going in September.
The places we've been looking at so far are Efes Inn, Golmar, Gondal, Babadan and Mitos. Just when we think we've found the perfect place we read something that puts us off. Help!!
Looking forward to any advice you can give me.

Welcome to the forum. I'd suggest you contact admin here at ICR - they've got loads of apartments (you can also check them out on the site here too) and if you tell them what you're looking for, they'll come up with something which suits your requirements. We've found them very helpful in finding something for us in the past. Wherever you end up though, I'm sure you'll love Icmeler!

Hi and welcome

I'd agree with Blondie, give ICR a call. Have a look at the apartments and hotels they have. I gave them a shortlist of three apartments and what we were looking for and I'm confident that we chose the right one from Johns advise at ICR. We chose the Mete Apartments which are on a quiet road but not too far from the beach and bars.

Apartment help & Hello!!

Postby jivebunnie0 » 02 May 2009 16:08

Hi teddybex and welcome.

Don't be too put off by reading reviews, unless of course they are mostly bad..... after all different things suit different people. For example, some people complain about the food, but if they will only eat burger and chips and won't try other things, then they are going to have things to moan about.

Turkish starred hotels, usually differ from our expectations, ie. a four star hotel there, may only be equivalent to a two start in other places. Can't vouch for apartments, as we dont stay in them.

If you want a reasonable hotel, try Blue Rainbow, Elif or Kontes Beach.... they are not flashy places, but I can guarantee they are clean, have good beds, and decent showers..... The rooms are not massive, but then if you are like us, you just need somewhere comfortable to sleep, somewhere clean and tidy, and a decent bathroom. We only ever go for B & B then we can please ourselves where we eat.

Hope this helps 8)

Hi and welcome Teddy
I was going to put my two penneth in, but it's all been said already hahaha and you've had the best advice which is to get in touch with ICR
You probably know by now that the Babadan aparts are a 5/10 minute walk to the beach , depending on how fast you walk, though I beleive they are great

looking forward to your questions which as you've prob gathered already, will get answers in no time at all

have a great holiday!
