The love Boat certainly looks the part, but compared to other retaurants its a little pricey, but hey its a special occasion

I think the Wayside is also a good choice for a special meal

Purely for the romantic setting, I'd go for the Waterfall, food and service is good too. You can book a table right in front of the waterfall if you go in a day or so beforehand.

James, we're going to Icmeler in June for our silver wedding too. The Love Boat is really nice - but to be honest, there are so many great places to enjoy a meal in Icmeler that we can't make up our minds where to go! It was my husband's 50th when we were there in October, and he likes the Lemon Tree, so we went there for his birthday and they made sure we had a fantastic time. I'm sure wherever you choose, it'll be a lovely day, and happy anniversary for when it comes around!

We have never found a poor quality resataurant in Icmeler, possibly we have been lucky but we have always followed advice from the senior posters on the forum.

Of them all, the Loveboat is probably still my favourite but Mrs weetoony took a real grue to it last year when she ordered a fillet steak with trimmings and was delivered a wee piece of meat surrounded by Diane sauce with a few pieces of carrot and asparagus and a few tattie crisps :!: Up until that point the Loveboat could do no wrong with her but it is now very much off her venue list. To make matters worse, my meal was superb :D

Venice has now taken over as her favourite thanks to their portions.

I'd probably say The Wayside.

A nice, peaceful place that is out of the way. The food is also great.

Enjoy!

The wayside is a lovely restaurant and no that out of the way. If you go to Tansas and walk down the side of Tansas its about a 5 minute walk away
Well worth the wqalk to get there

Restaurants

Postby lespaul » 02 May 2009 09:02

Try the Cavaliere for your romantic evening!

The setting is perfect as It sits right off the beachfront, even better if there's a full moon. Excellent food, excellent waiting staff & not too pricey!

All the other restaurants mentioned are in-town somewhat, so if you want to add a bit of 'romance' to the occassion, I'd suggest the Cavaliere or any of the other beachfront places .. they're all good!

I have had one of the Love Boat fillet steaks, also, Weetoney, and after their usual platefuls, I was also very disappointed, although it was beautifully tender. I kept wondering when they were going to bring the rest of it, as I thought what was on my plate was garnish!!!

If you want a romantic setting, try the Liberty Bar. At night they put tables out on the jetty, and the setting is fantastic.
