Hi all,
Can anyone let me know if you are charged for the sunbeds on
Icmeler beach? My sister is staying nearby and not sure if anyone can use them or are they tied to certain hotels etc. Thanks.

Most of them do charge £1 per person for the sunbeds and they can be used by anyone but if you go down near Deniz Kapitsi or Harmony Bar the sunbeds are free if you buy drinks and food from them. I think the Beach Linekers bar also provide free sunbeds for the same reason.

Hi Alison,
Thanks for reply. I thught that was the case. My sister stayed in Olu Deniz last year and think they were ripped off as they were charged approx £5 for each sun bed, table and umbrella every day and most of their money went on this.
Thanks - Jane.

There are loads of free spots on the beach, infact I think there are probably just as many free as there are charging.

In regard to free or not free beds etc, I think its nice to be on a beach where there are clean free toilets with-in range .
Because most of the beach is a fair way from one, unless you are up at what I call the top end, near the Kapisi, Harmany etc.
And Yes !!
I am knocking on a bit now

Rumours are going around that along with the tightening up of the entertainment and vendor licences, the new council are -"considering"- stopping the renting of the beach out to the private buisnesses, and putting their own staff in charge.
This seems to be in line with the council policy of cutting out completely the hassle and intimidation. Then the public can choose where and what they do, as the bars etc will still be there, but they wont have control of the beach.
With some of the new ideas coming into force I think that there are going to be some rather unhappy business people, but it might stop the rot that has set in.
Not sure I like the beach idea, as with some of the bars, Kapisi, Harmony etc, they are directly on the beach, although a good section of the beach has no direct link to a proper bar or restaurant This may be where the licenceing will come in. the beach renters will probably have to provide full facilities ie. clean free toilets etc.
It looks like an interesting season ahead:?
