Transfer query

I am looking at booking a return transfer for 2 people from Dalaman to Icmeler in June. I'm sure I recall being told that this transfer may be a private transfer but could also be shared with other holidaymakers.

Am I right in thinking we would only share if other holidaymakers were on the same flight and going to the same resort?

I don't want to be hanging around at the airport for other people from different flights or having to drop off loads of people in Marmaris etc.

Just looking for clarification from anyone before booking.

I booked the ICR transfer last year and it was a shared one luckily we were all on the same flight and going to Icmeler, it was the same on the way back all the pick ups were in icmeler. There is always a couple of flights landing at the same time that depart from different airports and I'm sure there was more than the one minibus waiting.

I hope this helps, it is worth booking just to get to icmeler that bit quicker!!

Obviously, depends on who you've booked your transfer with, but most 'shuttle' transfers tend to state in their T&C's that there may be a max wait time of upto 1hr at the airport.

However, all of our transfers so far have been on their way pretty quickly after landing.

Usually it's the big companies, such as T***** C*** whic cause the longest delays due to the amount of people going to Icmeler or Marmaris.

yeah if the transfer is shared then the people your sharing with will be coming in around the same time as you
maybe not exactly the same time but you wont have to wait that long unless there is unexpected delays
private transfers are a much better idea and well worth the money

Thanks for the info. Its the ICR transfer I'm looking at booking simply because it seems to be highly recommended and I want to book with someone reliable.

However whenever I've booked transfers before in other countries its always been a small private taxi (4 people max) therefore there has never been an issue of waiting for anyone else!

Does booking the ICR transfer mean an equally quick transfer as a private transfer or would it involve waiting around for other flights to come in to fill up the minibus in the same way the package holiday operators fill their coaches? In which case is this any better than getting a 'shuttle' transfer which seems much cheaper?

Sorry for all the questions I just want to get it clear before booking!

depending on how many people are on your flight have booked the ICR transfer it will be either a mini bus or it may be a car sometimes the will wait if people are on the next flight in but you should still be in Icmeler quicker than with the normal tour operators

If the next flight is due to land within 5 minutes then it may wait but it shouldn't be waiting for anything else and if anyone does wait a very long in 2009 time then I need to know about

we booked with icr lastyear for the first time and wouldnt transfer any other way now nice new merc minibus,free soft drinks and straight to icmeler superb

Steve i would reccomend ICR too we have only been to Icmeler twice,(third time this year) once using ICR and one on the cattle bus, this was so bad that we paid for the return trip to Dalaman with ICR. Our 6 year old got in the ICR taxi (sorry John) and promptly threw up, luckily we managed to stick her head out of the door so none went in the car!! But the driver bless him just told us to tell him to stop if we needed to. How many companies here would do that. It is reliable and we will be booking ours right now

Ha Steve just done it and paid for it how long did that take?? We are all done now, flights, apartment, insurance and transfer. Just more spend to save and weight to lose

Used ICR last year from dalaman to Marmaris. Cases were taken to the car for us we were in and away before I knew it. Got to the hotel in just over an hour, no check in queue, put the kids to bed (was 1am)went to the supermarket next door and we were well into the efes when the tour co. coach turned up! Hadnt booked the return transfer and we were the last pick up !! One more person on the coach than seats available ! Stuffy, hot and tiresome with the 'mandatory' stop off with inflated prices. Booked ICR both ways this year !!

We used ICR transfer only last year for the 1st time,there were only the 2 of us on the minibus going to our accomodation and coming back there were 4 others on bus. We did stop both ways for 15 minutes but the driver had asked us before hand if we wanted to stop off and we did.

Will definately use ICR again for transfers.
