how long before they cut off your turkish sim?

hiya
does anyone know how long it is before they cut your turkish sim off when you havent used it for a while
i was in alanya in october and normally we go in march/ april as well but due to high flight prices we havent been able to go this time
so was wondering if my turkish sim will still work in july when i come to icmeler
or will i have to buy another one
i remember someone saying something to me about 6 months ?

Hi Katie,
I dont think your sim will work as it will probably be blocked. I bought a sim in may last year and used it again in the june but when my brother took my phone with him in july it was blocked. In the sept i had to go to turkcell shop in marmaris to get my phone registered and got a new sim card. It took a couple of days before i could use it though. When i go back in june i have to go back to shop as i haven't been back to icmeler since and like our sims if you dont use them they can be blocked.

i use my phone in turkey every year,im on payg and get 300texts a mth for £10 but i send my texts multi media like you would a pic and it takes 3 texts off my allowance so i make sure im topped up and it dosnt cost me any money otherwise an ordinary text costs me 49p

don't quote me but.... here's how my turkish sim works - up to 3 months it will still work with any credit you have left on it. Between 3-6 months, you need to add credit to reactivate it. After 6 months - you will lose the number.

yeah thats what i thought is was yvonnem
so i dont think mine will work cause its over 6 months since the last time i used it
aw well i will just have to get another one when i go in july
which company do u think is best to buy from ?
i heard turkcell were good
anybody got any opinions ?

yeah, Turkcell - you can't really go wrong and all the little markets sell them.
