Postby configure34 » 05 Apr 2009 20:38

On our previous visits to icmeler our hotels have changed these with no commision taken, we are staying at the Elif hotel this year. Does anyone no if they do this or can anyone inform me the best way to cash them, best rate ect no commission.
Do bars exchange these if you pay for a meal, they give u the change in lira ???

Hi

You should be able to use them anywhere all the bars will change them for you along with the small supermarkets so you should not have any problems :D

You don't normally get the best rates at Hotels, I have only changed cash at restaurants, we change our TC's at the small supermarkets, the best we have found so far is the one opposite the romance restarant with the large fruit and veg section outside the shop on the road to the old village.

You can see the Romance restaurant on the map posted at http://www.icmeleronline.com/forum/view ... 91&start=0 so you know where it is.

Changing money

Postby Buncase » 05 Apr 2009 22:07

I'm with DKSBBS - I change my GB£ (I dont bother with TCs) at the little supermarket near the f&v stall. You can of course spend your GB£ in Icmeler anyway without changing to lira.

Doubt I will see the nice little chaps at the s'market this month though cos I've got lira left after visiting the in-laws and my friend has just sold me his leftover holiday money 3lira: £1 - YAY!

Happy hols ..........
