Does anyone know if you want to trade a piece of gold previously bought in
Icmeler for a new piece do you need to have the guarantee card they give you when you buy it or can you trade without it??

Without, they'll give you a price depending on the weight and carat weight, you don't need the card.

Also in Turkey they will also add extra for workmanship but I think in the UK its just weighed

Thank you, I'll see what they offer when I go, I know the weight of the diamond will they take my word for that??

Yes, that's true, they do take workmanship into account too when giving a price.
They will look at the diamond and will be able to test the carat weight with a special gems testing "thing", don't worry they won't need to dismantle anything!
I think you also get allowed a bit more if you've got your eye on another piece to trade it for rather than just wanting the cash.
Of course you could always visit several jewellers to get prices to compare... everyone's got their favourites, there is a thread here somewhere about jewellers.
