October last year it was 5 lira on the dolmus and 7.5 lira on the water taxi.

The views on the dolmus are spectacular as the road winds up the twisting roads up the mountain

got a taxi to turunc last year , we thought we must have joined the turkish motor rally , my ears popped when we reached the top of the mountain , got the water taxi back as we were given tickets by a nice couple that wanted to try the dolmus . we paided 30 lira for the taxi ,we sorted the price before getting in

Re Steve,s taxi price for Turunc.30 lira

Makes you think what they are ripping us off for, at night 12/15 lira across town, unless you know the guy and do a deal.

we learnt our lesson last year Peli ....... after our first taxi rip off ever, after that we asked them to put the meter on!!

Too true Fanny but even the meters are wound on after mid-night.
Good example here is when we are stood at Tommys bar waiting for the dolmus at 9 or 10 at night, and the taxi pulls up and says he will take is down town for 5 lira then 2 lira, but the same guy wanted 15 lira back from the Kapisi after the dolmus,s have stopped running.
I dont mind paying over the odds, for the time of night etc, but 15ytl / £6, is taking the p--- !!, for less than a mile.
But one good thing here is that no matter what time in the night/morning it is, the Kapisi lads will always run us home in their mini-bus or indeed their own car, as I think most of the other bars will also do.
So the taxi-man can go run or better still swim for his 15 lira.

we waited ages for a bus, and a taxi driver approached us, and we ended up paying him 30 lira to get there.but jeez, it was hair raising...... going around the mountain......

so we went back on the water taxi and paid 7 lira each i think, and it was lovely in the dark, seeing all the lights twinkling :D
