Turkish interest rate.

With the interest rate beeing so low in this country, anybody now if it is possible to open a Turkish bank account, where i hear the interest rate is about 17%.

The high intrest that you hear of is for an investment account where you pick the time you have your money in it and get the rate at the time, and obvously cant touch it untill it matures, this time you can pick yourself, say 3mths 12mths etc. So it cant be used like a debit card, or pull money out as and when, or you loose your intrest.
The up to date rate with Garanti is 13%, as Turkey has been hit with the recession as well. Also you have to be registered as a Turkish tax payer with a tax number.
