Hi Avril
I went a few years ago and was told we could only take 200 back with us, probably changed since then.

You actually possibly could bring back more than 200 back from Rhodes as it's part of the EU, and you can bring 3200 cigs back from EU countries. So I suppose if you kept your receipt incase you got stopped by UK customs when you get home. But that is only a thought I am not saying that is the way it is. You will obvisouly pay more for them there as in Turkey as the Eu tax will be applied makeing them more expensive than Turkey.

Yes you can bring them back into the UK from Rhodes all legal but you cannot by law bring more than 200 coffin nails INTO Turkey so if they wanted to take them from you at the port then they can

hi avril i did it with bottles of spirit ,kept the receipt ,and no problem at all, tabacco is a bit different ,be carfull you don,t loss out. its a heavy day going to rhodes as you go through customs quite stringent ,leaving early ,missing breakfast going to marmaris docks etc. take something to eat with you,and breakfasts are much more exspensive when you get of the boat . hope the crossing is smooth, ours was not sorry !!!!! enjoy bill atkinson

I used to get my cigs at Dalaman when we land from the duty free where you collect your baggage, I'm hoping I don't need to this year I gave up 22 days ago!! Cheaper than at our airports and Rhodes.

Hi Avril

Just a word of caution.!!!

Yes you can buy 3000 cigs in Rhodes..But if you get checked on the way back into Turkey ( FROM RHODES ) Then they may take them off you...

If you get past that hurdle , 8) then remember you may also be stopped at your HOME AIRPORT with 3000 cigs from Turkey, Your receipt from Rhodes will count for nothing (at your home airport) as you will be returning from Turkey.

I think that 3000 cigs will be a RISK. ( Money To burn Comes To Mind )
If you are willing to take a chance and give it a go,
THEN I would recommend splitting the 1000 packs ,and put 200 packs between different suitcases..!!!!!!
OR just buy at any Turkey airport when you are entering or leaving the country. ( it wont be 3000 though.)

PS: I brought back 1400 last year from Turkey, and I just bought them when on the plane ( both ways).
