Single person with a 7 year ald daughter

Postby Jozzyd » 10 Jan 2009 15:35

My friend is considering coming to Icmeler with her daughter in June. As it will be just the two of them, she is slightly concerned for their safety, I have assured her they will be fine but I am biased. So any assurances would be appreciated. Also as they are both veggies she is curious about food options. Thanks for any tips and help :D

Hi Jozzyd
Tell your friend that we have always felt safe in Icmeler, even when we have returned in the early morning, there are always people about.
Also tell her that nearly every bar will get her a taxi back to her hotel if she wants it. We would be happier to walk around Icmeler than walk around Glasgow I can assure her.
The only trouble we have seen in Icmeler was at the Chill Bar when Liverpool played in the Cup in 2005, and that was an argument between 2 Liverpool supporters, and they left the best of friends, never did find out what it was about.

one of the reasons we keep going back to icmeler is the fact that we just feel safe there.

Hi Jozzyd
We have a very good family friend who,s daughter came out in July last year, loved the place and immediately booked to return in May of this year for 2 weeks
She stressed how safe she felt on her own, with her 2 girls aged 7 and 3, and although she was with people she knew last year, has not got a problem or worry about returning as a single parent.
Regards

hi, i have never been to Icmeler on my own but i do feel very safe when walking about on my own as does my daughter who has been visiting Icmeler since she was 10, like most people though what i wouldnt do in this country i wouldnt do abroad, personal safety/common sense doesnt get left in the airport. I am also a veggie and have thoroughly enjoy eating in Turkey, every bar/restaurant i have been to will adapt their menu to suit you, or make something if you ask them, unlike this country where Mushroom Stroganoff seems to be the norm! im sure your friend would have a lovely time jacqui :D :D

I have walked, stumbled and crawled home at various hours of the day and through the night on my own, and been totally safe.

By the way the walking, stumbling and crawling is due to overwork and not the quantity of vodka!

HIC HIC!

Me too - and usually brought on by quantity of vodka!!

Seriously though, I would never walk around in my home town after dark on my own (and that's in Devon so hardy a big city!) but I have never, ever felt threatened or unsafe in Icmeler.

If your friend is worried, again, as Donna says I'm sure someone would escort her home or even drive her home, no matter the distance!
