Hi everyone, I have had problems with my computer have not been able to post. Back up and running now and I just wanted to give you an update on my ring saga. I posted a message in October about a ring I handed in to a jewellers to be cleaned along with my daughters.(rings that had been bought in Icmeler) When I got the ring back I was convinced it had been tampered with as the stones did not as have the sparkle it had before and just looked so dull and different. I was gutted and handed the ring in to be valued when i got home along with a bracelet I had got years before to see if I had been done. Well I am delighted to tell you that I was told the ring had NOT been tampered with although he did say that they had not made a very good job of the cleaning. I was told that the chemicals they use if not rubbed of properly can leave a dulling effect and can change the whole appearace of the diamonds. I just felt so terrible (although delighted too) that I doubted the jeweller in the first place. I was also told the value of the ring and the bracelet and both were more than double of what we had paid. This has so restored my faith in the jewellers as I have bought a lot of jewellry over the years. I just wanted to let you all know and as I said before just feel awful that I had doubted the jeweller in the first place. I will certainly be giving them my custom again and just feel ashamed that I did doubt them. Hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year and look forward to be back in the Icmeler family again,

Carol

hi carol, is it as windy where you are, as in Kirkcaldy?? ..anyway, my husband had a diamond solitaire ring made for my 40th a couple of years ago as a surprise, it had been the first time we had bought jewellery in Turkey - he had the ring valued immediately on our return in a jewellers in Rose Street, Edinburgh and was delighted that it was worth double what he had paid for it - the only problem i found on wearing it though was that the white gold had to be replated yearly, Mick at the Greenhouse did this for me at no extra charge, on our second visit to Icmeler last year i decided to get it re set in platinum - again a brilliant service - im glad you have had a happy resolution...jacqui :D

I'm so glad it all turned out fine for you, Carol - and just to let you both know, it's just as windy and cold on the other side of the Forth! :)

We have used the greeenhouse jewellers (just up from cash machines) a few times and have had good service. Just remember if you buy diamonds you might not get a certificate. There are three brothers who run the greenhouse business chain (property, clothes and jewellers) one of them called michael who is married to a girl from bathgate.

All the best

Archie

Carol, I'm so pleased you had a happy ending and that your ring had not been tampered with.

As I said, I always leave all my jewellery overnight (if they are busy) to be cleaned and have never had any problems. Must admit though I either use Kurts or Sultans. :)
