So so Quiet on here - something to think about.

Perhaps someone is frightening the posters away ,not a lot happening .Will Icmeler be the same as you remember when you next return ?. It seems that a lot of traders have had it bad this year and will not be returning to trade in 2009 .New influx of traders is bound to change things because some will try to do things differently to make a go of it .Will probably go 1 of two ways either become even more quiet than last season or Louder -more disco type establishments to attract the Marmaris crowd . What do you think ?

Hi Birdy

it always goes quiet this time of the year thats why Colette introduced last year a non Icmeler chat thread I think the excitment of the holiday build up brings people onto the forum then after their holiday they just drop off until next year when it goes busy again you will find the non Icmeler thread at the top of the page

Everything will be the same as the old places that go bust will be taken by new people that haven't got a clue and all they will do is copy everyone else.

There was only one person in Icmeler that had a bar completely different to all other bars but he is dead now and the bar is gone so you will never see a bar like it again as its not there to copy

John are you talking about the turkish jazz bar? We passed it every night one year as it never seemed to be open, but our last night found out it didn't really do anything till after 10pm. The following year we decided to give it a go but it had closed, it was a shame as people said it was really good, dont know if it's true but were told the jazz musician was famous in Turkey.

Elaine and Peter.

Elaine and Peter got it in one.

Ali died a few years ago now and then the plot was taken over and called the Geordie bar

With me being from Newcastle, I know the family that used to own that. I've been told that business was good for the first year then it dropped so they sold it on to another Geordie.

Don't know if it's still owned by a Geordie now. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the Turks have bought it now.
