Arrived back earlier this week from our latest ever holiday to icmeler.
Must admit we were a bit dubious about going this late as we had heard reports about the place beeing like a ghost town.
Well i can honestly say that this was one of the best holidays we have ever had, we stayed at the Aqua hotel which we only booked the week before for a bargain price. The hotel was superb [we had a room overlooking the bay] although the food in the hotel was nothing special
Arriving early tuesday morning the weather was absolutely superb, and we couldn't imagine that icmeler was going to be so different to the usual hussle and bussle of june and september, however on arrival we were pleasantly surprised to find that there were more places open than we thought there would be.
After a few hours catching some rays on the beach we decided to go for a walk, which didn't last long as we stumbled across the venice bar selling large effes for 1 lira, sitting in the baking sun drinking ice cold effes we decided that we had made the right choice in coming back to icmeler so late and were to freqeunt this certain bar on a daily basis for the remainder of the week.
During the final week of the season more bars were closing daily, but there were certainly enough going on right until our final day.
Would certainly recommend going this time of year to anybody as the place was so quiet and peacefull, although we realise that we were really lucky that the weather was abnormally hot for the time of the year.
