When is time to keep the noise down???

We stay in great apartments in Icmeler located in old village. We really like them as its a residentail area and lovely and peaceful

However a couple of nights we were kept awake until around 02.30/03.00 by people from the apartments next door, sitting at their bar chatting away. Now I know when your on holiday you ahve a few drinks and start chatting and I dont expect evetyone to go to bed at 22.00. The chatting probably was not too loud but as the area is that quiet it seemed very loud.

So in your opinion when there be peace and quiet

I asked if they could keep the noise down about 01.30 whuch they did for about 10 minutes. But you know how it is a few drinks and you seem to start talking louder. I dont want to be a killjoy, people are on holiday to unwind/ relax etc but Mrs smc4761 needs her beauty sleep(dont tell her I said that)

We went to bed about 1.30am and because our appts were so close together.(our bedroom was situated in a corner of the block and the next balcony was nearly in our bedroom) The people in this appt sat on their balcony chatting quietly, but it sounded like they were sat at the side of our bed they were so close!
I don't think people intend to disturb others but sometimes it can't be avoided as you are living in each others pockets.
