Hi we are going back to Icmeler next Fri not booked meals on flight this time have read that Boots do a flight meal if anyone has seen or better still tried these what do you get in it and was it ok. Cheers

I don't think it's billed as a "flight meal" as such, but the "meal deal" which you can buy in the Boots shops at the airport. You usually get a sandwich, a drink and you can choose something like crisps or a cake, etc, to go with it. Quite a few people were buying them to take on the plane with them when we were at Glasgow Airport in June.

who are you flying with we went in Aug flew with Monarch on way out and Jet2 comming back did not book flight meals but we were given meals on both flights

When we went in June, we were on a Thomson flight, no flight meals paid for, but we both received a meal.

Some others I spoke to said they never paid for a meal, but had always received one.

Thanks for the replies we go with Thomas cook 5 of us been with BMI did not pay for meals but will wait and see also i will look at the meals at boots at airside. Cheers

We were talking about this with someone on our flight in June.
And we were both wondering how long it will be before
Either the airport authorities or the individual airline stops people takeing food on board

I guarantee it will only be a matter of time.

We flew back home last night with Thompsons and I had made some ham rolls as we hadn't booked a meal.
When we bought a drink we ate our sandwiches. The girl at the side of me bought a sandwich for £3.50 and I don't think she enjoyed it because she was picking bits out of it and left a lot so they can't be very good!

One thing has been puzzling me though, and I'm going a little off topic, but when we went to Manchester to go on hol they said our seats were pre booked. When we were coming home we were told at Dalaman that they were pre booked at that end also. We got exactly the same seats at each end of the hol.

I thought it was perhaps that we didn't book a meal but the person i sat next to on the plane on the way to Dalaman was on the plane on the way back but said that they weren't told that thier seats were pre booked and they didn't have a meal either.
Someone said it may be that we booked the hol quite early, I don't know

I buy the meal deal alot its good value at lunch time, be carefull about flight time they might not have any decent sandwichs left

We flew in May with Onur and our seats were prebooked dont know why but people in front off us asked to sit together and check in said no sorry you cant.
We did book our flight the year before

we have been to icmeler many times and never where possible pay for the meals on board - Monarch provide one - the Boots Meal Deal at the airport is good, but Sainsbury, Marks etc do the same thing, buy it before hand and take it with you - i would however recommend that you buy something for the return journey before you get to the airport as the prices are through the roof - this includes your drinks..even the CIP Lounge in the airport is not that good value - we are just back and it would have been over £100.00 to stay for 2 hours which really isnt worth it - someday the airport authorities will realise why their bars, restaurants etc are all empty and lower the prices until they do people will not pay the prices they charge - have a lovely holiday jacqui

Hi thanks for all he replies we have passed through Dalaman Airport several times this being our 26h time back there.We go out at 7am so
the food should be fresh also comming back we pack a tin of cornbeef to make a snack just buy some of there great bread get drinks from resort
Countdown now as the cases are out.Cheers

i save my boots points to use on mealdeals at the airport - it's all too easy to spend a fortune before even getting on the plane, so at least i feel i've got a bargain before i hit the duty free shop ha ha

I just save pennies up and I call that my airport money, so what ever is there we change before we go aay and it usually pays for food and drink in the airport and drinks on the plane.

I have started my £2 savings tin after reading the thread here a few months ago, so hopefully I will have duty free spends out of that as well as meals

That's what we do aswell, i cash it before i head to airport and start it up again as soon as i get back

We usually have a meal at the airport with the money saved in our holiday fund tin, then just buy Pringles and Maltesers to nibble en route.

Ooh we had £62 on the lottery last night for 4 balls. That can go straight towards the airport spends
