We are just back (Friday) from two weeks in the Ekinci Palace and we were delighted with the standard of the accommodation and the complex. ICR you have a wee gem on your books for next year.

If we had one complaint, it was that our bar/restaurant tab kept rolling and we had to pay at reception as the bar would not take cash. I was hit for over 200 YTL for drinks over four nights and certainly never allowed this to spiral again. I raised this with one of the joint owners and he assured me that this would not happen in 2009. While saying this, there is no suggestion that we were being overcharged and possibly the opposite.

The restaurant kitchen was open during our first week but closed at the end of it and the meals were then being taken across the road from the Cubana that is in the same ownership.

The situation is ideal for us being away from Icmeler centre and beside the old village and the valley although, having arrived at 4.30am, we were not best pleased when the mosque and the cockerels let rip at 5.30am. :D

We also had the pleasure of meeting Polly from the forum who was taking great care of the complex's cats.

Ah well, back to the grind tomorrow to try to get enough siller for next year
