I'm traveling with my family on the 11th Septmeber, we booked the flights a few weeks ago, and we are very excited to be going back to Icmeler.
It's only just occured to us that we will be flying on the anniversary of the twin towers disaster.
my dad who's very superstitious is now a nervous wreck, he's not too great with flying anyway and he is even thinking of change the flight date.

I myself am not too concerned about flying on this date, any thoughts or comments on the subject and would anyone fly on this date :?:

Hi Turkeylover
I should imagine feeling nevous is a very serios matter.and a lot of people pooh-pooh! the idea.but it is very real to the person concerned
My thoughts on the time eliment, 9/11 are,to ask yourself how many aircraft are being used in that 24hr period in the world, it must run into the 10s of thousands or so, and I would try and look at the persentages here
I know some will think, its got to happen somewhere, but if you think
Why here why now,why this plane, the persentage runs into the millions to one
As the saying goes ,flying is still safer than driving. please Im not being sarcastic, but does or did your dad drive, and could you approach him down these lines Also I think of all the"ball-ache" that is security.
which makes me feel safer and the possabilities of a repeat being very remote.
I will have no problem flying on that date.
Best Regards
Peli

I flew on the 11th September last year to Egypt, didn't bother me but a colleague of mine was flying to Marseille and was going on about it being the 11th September. They still flew though.

I have flown on 11 September the last three years(!) & it's absolutely fine - if anything security is higher!

Although the last two years I have had delays - so i'm more worried about that than anything else! Last year was 2 hours which wasn't too bad but the year before was 13 hours! Fingers crossed this doesn't happen again!
