I have been to
Icmeler twice before in June and August. Is there any mozzies about in September. No point buying repellant if it is not required.
Cheers
Rob

Hi Bob,s
Can only endorse what others say , for the sake of a couple of quid and a blast of aerosol especialy in the evening its better than 4 or 5 days itching and looking like a piece of bubble wrap!
The little B------ds appear from no where, its not the time of year thats the problem, its the atmospheric conditions that do it, and this can change within hours, especialy in Sept

I've never had a problem in Icmeler, usually go May, July, Or September, thanks for mentioning the September problem though Pete, because we got caught out in Olu Deniz a couple of years ago, did indeed look like bubble wrap for a week! mind you, so did a lot of people around the resort. We bought a local mozzie spray while we were there, called "OFF"

the name made me laugh so much. I will take one from home this September though, just incase.

Hi Trish
We swear by "OFF" and buy a couple at a time Just a thought is it worth buying it in Uk, or if so buy in boots, airside then your not involved with wieght etc
We were once told by a chemist and which I do belive to be the case that mozzies and other insects are attracted by perfume, aftershave, etc. I personally dont use either!! whilst on holiday and have had very little problem unless Im walking in the village or the hills then I obviuosly spray myself with "OFF"
Regards

Thanks Peli, I think I'll buy some OFF in
Icmeler now that you've endorsed it too, I've never really looked for it in Icmeler, as it was just the Olu Deniz "first night attack" which made me run to the local supermarket for it. The guy in the shop recommended it, and after having been bitten to bits during my first nights sleep and had a face which looked like the other side of the moon, I suggested a pre fix should be added to the OFF on the bottle

Thanks, I will definately buy it there now. I'm arriving 20th September 5am, hope they don't swoop before I get to the shop

Neither do I Steve, normally, but Olu Deniz was a total shock for me. It was war from the first night onwards! I used to prowl round the apartment like an S.A.S soldier (well not quite, but you know what I mean

), checking for the blighters! the mere hint of a buzz and I was up like a shot during the night. It Really was something else there! The whole resort bore the scars!

Maybe it was just a bad year for it, but we've since been told Olu Deniz suffers from invasions quite often. So I'll definately be armed and ready with OFF in September after LFC Petes and Peli's warning. Eventhough I've never had a problem in Icmeler.

If its in your room thats the problem you can buy a plug-in adapter that takes a little blue pad type thing that lasts about 10/12 hrs it gives off a mozzie reppelant that is odourless and definately works even with the windows open
You can buy them and the tablets in the duty-free for a few quid we use them all the time and have never had a problem in our place
Good Luck

I have never been bitten all the time I have been going to Icmeler, we always go in Sept.
This year I was bit to pieces, my legs, my arms my face and even some places that weren't visible

The bites drove me mad, they were soooo itchy!
I have no idea why as I used the same repellant
I will definitley but some 'Off' as recommended thanks !
