We go to Icmeler in 5 & a bit days, and we were talking about the weight allowance of luggage.

How long has 20kg been the norm?
My husband thinks previously it was 30kg, if it was how long ago was that?

We ended up agreeing to disagree :)

Anyway, I think women should have more allowance than men because we have more toiletries ( hair lacquer, make up , perfume, moisturisers etc) and we have to take straighteners , hair dryer, , handbags & more gladrags than blokes, what do you think ladies?

Its been 20 kg as long as I can remember. :? There were 4 of us travelling each with 20kg allowance and although 2 cases were about 26 kg each collectively we were under the 80 kg between the 4 of us so no excess.

You may find some airlines are now only giving 15KG with the ticket price and then you have to buy another 5KG. I have just had to do that with XL Air. They charged £7.50 per extra 5KG per person. With the likes of ZOOM and other airlines going under this will I feel become more common in the near future. My guess is by next year weight on the plane will become very expensive with fuel prices rising further.

It's always been 20KG on carter flights into Europe since I've been holidaying except now as other have stated airlines are reducing to 15Kg and making you pay extra.

I think if yor charter long haul some airlines offer 32KG per person but not sure which ones.
