Hi and welcome to the forum. Have done transfer with ICR once before and it was really good, its a minibus so you may be travelling with other people, but its not like on the tour operators coach. Tour Operators coach can take almost 3hrs to Icmeler after you've dropped people off in Marmaris etc. Transfer with ICR is around 1hr30mins, maybe quicker depending on traffic conditions etc. Hope this helps.

cheers dotty,
been having a chat with john here in england.............think we have sorted it.
the reason we need a quick transfer is that we are unsure how our son will take to the journey....hes 16 months old and its the first time on a plane......just need to get the traveling over as quickly as possible!
know what the normal transfers are like..............been there..done that.lol

Hi C,J & C
Re transfer although we havnt used ICR due to our own personal arangements with friends, I feel sure that whoever you are sharing with, if indeed you do share?, a quick natter between you and a word with the driver the half way stop can be cut out, I think the majoritey of us dont want it in the first place!,will get you there quicker, perhaps someone in admin can confirm

We had a coach transfer this year as part of our package, we had to sit on the bus over an hour in Dalaman then a further 2 and a half hours to the apartment. Never again! We called into the ICR office and booked our return transfer with them. We canvelled the original transfer by fax but they still turned up! I tried to find reviews on the transfer company before we went but couldn't find any! If anyone wants the name pm me and I will be only too happy to tell you who to avoid. They wanted to collect us 6 and a half hours before our flight! ICR transfer turned up, a private taxi for just us 4, we stopped for a 5 minute break which was nice, then straight to the airport. Bliss thanks Donna :D

We went with first choice this year and the transfer only took 2 hours and that was with a 15 minute break. WE got out of the airport at dalaman had a fag got on the coach and it left within 5 minutes, plus we were the last drop off. Then again maybe we were lucky

I would never use a tour bus for a transfer again. The main advantage being time as Marmaris is before Icmeler, any other travellers have to be dropped off before you so you spend a couple of hours touring the streets of Marmaris as the bus tries to negotiate the narrow streets, offloading cases, passengers, tour guides etc. Also, on the return leg you will find that your collection time can seem very early. I noticed this year when we arrived at Dalaman we were the only people at check in and got through passport control and rid of the cases within twenty minutes of arriving. While we were in duty free i noticed three tour buses turning up together, and folk were standing outside in the heat waiting to get checked in.

I don't understand Keith. You said advantages, did you mean disadvantages of using a tour operator bus? You also mentioned you were at airport early and rest were outside in the heat waiting, isn't that good for you? Sorry I might have read it wrong. What gets me is the cost of the transfer is in with the booking so unlike pre seat bookings and food on flight you cannot cancel it, if you could I would do a private transfer everytime, but I refuse to pay twice. I'm going back next year with the same company but no way on earth am I paying for pre booked seats...rip off because you will sit together anyway if booked at the same time and not a cat in hells chance am I payiong 65 quid for in flight meals, disgusting garbage.

Depends who you book your flight with, adewolves. On the past few occasions, I've been asked while booking if we wanted transfers, and these were charged separately, so it's not always in with your actual flight cost. Some operators allow you to book flights with or without transfers.

Sorry adewolves, i am in favour of using the smaller independant transfer buses, mainly due to the speed and time factor. After sitting on a plane for 4 hours, and two hours at newcastle airport i just want to get to apartments as quickly as possible. We organised our own accommodition, flights and transfers this year. The transfers both ways were £120 but that was for three families, so i thought that was cheap!

hi 3Cs!

i really do think you've made the wisest choice - as for being "grumpy" or rather "not", my own children's wailing is bad enough ha ha
as far as I can see, getting from Dalaman to Icmeler by the quickest, safest method is money well spent and the ICR transfers are spot on

have a great hol - shame we wont be there to see you
