Seasonal?

Postby Suede Apple » 31 Jul 2008 15:47

I have visited Icmeler many many times over the past few years - but always at the end of May. I am now thinking of coming in October, but am not sure if it the end of the season or not. Does Icmeler have a season or do things carry on till later in the year?
I would appreciate if anyone can help me with this.

Thanx

Barb :)

I am going back to Icmeler on October 3rd for 2 weeks. It usually starts closing towards the end of October, although a minority of places do stay open in the winter. Most places will start to close down at the end of October though.

The weather is sill lovely during the day, hot enough to sun-bathe, but you will probably need a jacket or cardigan some evenings.

You can also get a thunderstorm or two, but these dont last long and are beautiful to look at.

Its my favourite time of the year in Icmeler.

Hi Barb
End of season is mid Oct ,places are shutting down by then and it does go very quiet Out of season nearly every place is boarded up apart from a couple of bars used by people living there or staying over depends what you want from your stay here

we went for the last week of the season a few years ago - flew home on halloween, now that WAS bizarre

it was really odd seeing cars parked in our fave restaurants and the beach lads were kind enough to leave 4 sunbeds on the beach just for us ha ha

it was a great holiday in a different kind of way than going in August and I'm glad we did it, even though some restaurants were closing around us as we had our last drinks

word of warning though that it is VERY cold in the evenings so you'd be as well to take a couple of fleeces
daytime weather was nice and warm and we were lucky enough to have a week of sun

have a great time!

October is one of my favourite times of year too, everyone is starting to wind down and relax at the end of the season and it means people have more time for you and each other. When I used to live and work out there October signalled the end of all the hard work and as work was winding down you got time to rediscover Icmeler and catch up with people. It meant I had more time for my customers too and in turn had happier customers. I would reccomend this time for definate. Especially now that there are enough restaurants open right into early november to ensure you dont go hungry or thirsty!

My other favourite time was April as this is when Icmeler sort of becomes awake again and every one starts to spring clean and spruce up the place ready for the customers. There is always a great buzz about the place as people anticipate what kind of season it will be and everyone is itching to get back to work and do something after a long winter. Would recommend April / Early May to anyone too who wants to see a different side to the hectic chaos in August!

YEh winter is great we go out in Feb just for the week although might not in 2009.the weather is so mixed, this year was warm enough to sit out in day but -4 degrees at night there was even a very mild flurry of snow Its so nice to wander around with no one about and every place boarded up even the beach is piled up out of the way, pure peace!
