1st Time in Icmeler

Postby contrarymary » 02 Mar 2006 19:22

Hi! We have been to Turkey a few times but are going to Icmeler for the first time in June. From what I've been told and read on this forum, I'm sure we'll love the resort and I can't wait to get there.

We booked last July to stay AI at the Mirage Hotel but now I'm a bit worried cos the reviews I've read on Holiday Truths aren't too good since it changed to AI. I was wondering if any of you Icmeler 'regulars' stayed there last year and if so, could give me your opinions of it, please.

Thanks in advance for any replies - they'll be appreciated :) :)

Hiya

I've stayed in Mirage when it was self catering twice...was great, all the guys were lovely in there, have kept in touch with a few.
I stayed AI last May...but as it was the first couple of months of going AI,it wasnt too good. You had no ID to say you were AI,so people who werent even staying there were basically helping themselves.
But i have since heard, that they have sorted this problem.

Cant fault the rooms or the pool areas and great location. But to be honest we ate out alot as icmeler has alot of great places to eat.
Not to put a downer on this place,as i say you cant fault the place and i'm sure you'll enjoy it

Thanks for your replies Stevo and Bec.

We've done AI inTurkey before and found it ok. We tended to use the hotel facilities during the daytime then go out to the bars in the evenings as hotel entertainment isn't usually up to much. We'd also have the occasional meal out and still found it worked out cheaper for us than going s/c and having to pay for all all our meals, drinks etc. Not that we go away to save money, but the less we spend on these things, the more I get to spend in the jewellers. lol

Maybe the Mirage's problems last year were due to it being their 1st year doing AI and hopefully everything will be sorted out for this summer. Have made a note of your suggested eating places, just in case though.

Thanks again.
