I enjoyed me stay in June. I can agree with some points Sandy has made, but I wouldn't say avoid them at all costs, because I would definately go back. I have been used to staying at Grand Aqauarium which is to a very high standard, but when we arrived we were more than happy with the Kurt.

We got them for a very good price and was very pleasantly suprised with the accom. Yes they did hassle us the first day or so but they left us alone after that. Our room ws great it was pool view, and was very spacious. Like every apartments there are going to be some rooms that are worse than others, unfortuanately that's the chance you have to take and hope that if your room isn't upto your requirements that you are moved.

Our daughter had an awful time at the Kurt apartments and although she got them really cheap we will certainly not book them again.I know the old saying you get what you pay for but being rude and hasseling them should not have happened and to be honest if I started with the complaints we have I would not stop.

I wonder if ICR (who sell the Kurt) could have some influence as the Kurt could lose customers. Unlike other resorts Icmeler has a lot of returning guests (including myself) and they need to think about this. I think I read somewhere that ICR had to sort out the aircon over charges, so hopefully they could point staff in the right direction of good customer relations.

I didn't have any real problems there, and am considering returning them in October. Yes there was hassle there but I got far worse hassle last year at Grand Aquarium last year. The apartments were spotlessly clean, and attract a nice crowd of people. When we told them we didn't want something they left us alone.

That's just my personal experience, and will definately be going back.

Wish our Lynsey's experience of The Kurt had been as good as yours Steve.As her holiday was her 18th birthday present from us. Could have looked over it if they had been making a noise and causing trouble but they didn't even make it to Eastenders this year as she was helping us with Niamh due to me being ill.Most night they were back before midnight.

Thants a shame Lynda. Because they are nice apartments. I can see what your saying about the Kurt Family though i think maybe if your young or they think they can pester you and you are going to give into them, then they think they can make more money. We were quite rude them the first couple of days because we knew if we weren't they would keep pestering us so we just told them NO, after that they didn't speak to us which suited us fine. You've just got to put them in their place, and you're fine then. But as I said I was more than happy for what we paid.

Hey well i have finally found time to get caught back up with what everyone is saying.. I've been working since I came back and thats was Monday the 14th

You all know me and my boyfriend stayed at the Kurt Apartments for our 2 week holiday.

A couple of things i wasnt happy with: -

When we got off the bus at the apartments, we were greeted really well and hugged etc, then they told us to sit down and have a drink and to be honest i know i was on my holidays but i had been on the go from Sunday afternoon and not getting to my apartments til around 6pm on the Monday Afternoon, all i wanted to do was go up to my room and chill out then get ready to go out and meet my family. Mr Kurt asked for comfirmation off the booking and everything else, then he said you have to wait until we can transfer you to the other family run apartment.. thats when i started to ask questions!! I got on to the phone to my mum who had arrived at Alvaro, and told her. Then i started telling them it is redicious etc as you do! All of a sudden they had found us a room!

We got into our room and they helped us up with the bags etc. I really can not fault the rooms, they were clean, tidy, basically you could eat your dinner off the floor.

The Safety deposit box and Air condition for 2 weeks cost us £90 for 2 weeks, where as the other places I have stayed before was charging £42 for everything and that was for 2 weeks.

We didnt get are towels changed every couple of days, if we were lucky if they would be changed every 4th day, and our beds must of been only changed twice and that is in the whole two weeks. I had to go down to Mr Kurt and ask him for fresh towels as we havent had any since we came and he looked at me and said something about us complaining alot, this was infront of everyone who was around the bar, and then he told me that they expect the towels to last us 4 days, now come 4 days and that is everyday coming in and out of colrine and also using sun cream!

We were going to the Water Park one day so we decided to get a bite of breakfast before going. We had it up at the Kurt, J.J ordered a omelette, when it came down the grease was sitting inches thick, jj had to ask for another plate to eat his breakfast off! Also that morning we ordered with our breakfast 2 apple juices, when we got them we tasted them and they were watered down!

Mr Kurt doesn't like you going down to the Tansa's to get anything, even drinks, as we walked in one day and he said you never eat or drink here, and looking in our bags as he said it.

Dont be leaving your tip for the maids in the room, leave it with the maids personally as after you leave Mr Kurt goes up to your room and takes the tip money you have left for the maids, and also if you leave any drinks, spirits etc he puts them in the bar, and makes money out of it!!

The Kurt was really clean and tidy but I didnt like the way we were treated by the staff! There are probably more things that happened but to be honest I cant remeber at the minute. I would get over it if we were not coming into 4 or 5 in the morning and making alot of noise but we weren't

I can vouch for Lynseyloo's account as my family were at the Kurt at the same time and we observed what was going on with others. I don't know if it was because we have stayed here 3 times, but we didn't seem to get the same hassle as other guests and a polite 'no thanks' worked for us. Mind you Mr Kurt always approached my husband and asked him to go on trips, eat in restaurant etc and not me. Probably because hubby would say' got to check with the wife' and I always said' no'. We thought that it was the Kurt's son who was causing all the problems, but reading through everyone's comments, Mr Kurt was hasseling them too. It's a shame as they are lovely, quiet apartments and people are going to be put off going. The last 2 years have been very barren for the Kurt's as they were practically empty all season, but with this greedy attitude they will find themselves empty again. I don't know if we would go again to the Kurt (even though we had no problems) as we did see how others were treated and it does make us wary, but also because (trivial I know) but the beds were hard and uncomfortable. If you have booked to go to these apartments, please don't let our experiences put you off. Just go prepared to say NO and don't let them harass you. If there is a problem, speak to the daughter as she is great and will try to fix any problems there are, Don't go to the son as he is horrible.

Also the Barman Morat is pretty good. We had a chat with him one day, and he said I know people don't like being hassled and I only do it when I have to ie. one of the Mr Kurts are watching. He said he tries to tell the Kurts people don't like being hassled.

As for the food, I did not like the breakfasts there, but found lunches quite nice and reasonably priced.

It is a shame people have had bad experiences because they are nice apartments. I personally would say give them a try, as jejo said just be prepared to stand your grond and say no and you should be fine.

OK people, I am a grown woman with grandkids ha ha and not timid, so if I just say 'no thanks'firmly, will that pass muster? He is not going to stop me taking food, drinks and stuff up to my room. That's why we are self catering. Can't wait to see what he tries to charge for A/C not paying more than £3.00 per day. Feel a bit uncomfortable and gutted for you who had hassle but holidays are precious and they will not spoil it!!!!

Sorry to hear about your experience Lynseyloo, and thanks for your honest report. Sounds like the Kurt Apartments have been quiet for a reason, definitely one to avoid.

He tried to charge us £5 for the aircon, ours didn;t work so he gave us a fan for £3 a day and it was great because least you can move it from room to room, it wasn't a little desk fan it was like a boxed in one with a rotating grid, and really wacked out the cold air.

On a lighter note about the Kurt apartments,I forgot to mention in previous posts a funny story about taking food into the Kurt's. One night my family decided to get a take away instead of eating out. My 2 sons went to the chippy at the bottom of the street and the rest of us (excluding hubby) went to Sylvia's for a take away. (I should point out that the previous night we saw someone get a take away and the food was in foil containers). We are regulars to Sylvia's over the years and know the food is good. Well we looked at the menu and decided on 2 soups, 1 pizza and a chicken diana. I assumed it would all come in foil containers - nope, each dish was as it would be served in the restaurant, on plates and all covered in clingfilm and on a very large tray which was also covered in clingfilm. You should have seen our faces! We were given a lift back to the apartments which was great as I didny fancy trying to carry it back. Once at the apartments I thought ' what are the Kurt's going to say', but walked right in with this huge tray of food. (my daughter and her fiance having ran away incase anything was said - cowards). Luckily the Kurt's weren't about, but Murat (the barman) and the chef was behind the bar. The whole area was empty and I had to walk past them. Their faces were a picture. I expected a confrontation, especially when I saw the chef, but they just looked gobsmacked. After we ate our meal (outside in the verranda) my hubby went to the bar. My daughter came back in to say "Mr Kurt is speaking to dad. What if he's getting a row for the food". I went out as my hubby came in and he said nothing was mentioned about the food, Mr Kurt was trying to get us on a trip. Maybe we went a bit too far with our take away, but the apartments are self catering and we are entitled to take food in.

thats problem staying at places that do food they expect you to eat there all time.if the kurt is self catering then you can take food to your room bought from where ever,having read your posts on the kurt i will cross it of my places to stay in the future

I agree kirky that's why we go to apartments, so we can eat wherever we want.

That's funny jejo, I can imagine there faces. I don't think Murat minds that much, that's what he told us anyway he said it's just when the kurts are around he has to pretend like he cares.

I didn't find the hassle that bad though, and as I said I have stayed at better apartments and had far worse hassle. I think people are worrying to much what the Kurts think, just get your food from where ever and don;t worry about it, there's nothing they can do about it.

You get enough hassle walking round the resturants, hairdressers and jewelers after reading this i think i will give the Kurt a miss next year.

We went to look round there in may and sensed a bit of hassling going on but did not think much of it. Might stay at the apartments next door instead
