First time leaving tomorrow

Hi all,

Found this forum thorugh the powers of google.
Me and my friend are jetting off from Manchester first thing in the morning on a late deal we found to Icmeler staying at the Daphne. Has anyone stayed here and what is it like etc?

From reading peoples views on her im really excited. Anything we need to watch out for or good places to eat drink.

And if anyone knows how much it usually costs to get into Marmaris that would be good.

Thanks

Dan

Hi Dan,
Firstly welcome to the forum. We were there in June we being me and the other half and we were going through £60 to £70 per day on average but that's not taking into account for trips etc etc, but that was eating out twice a day and drinks, day to day running costs. The only word of warning is the airport is very expensive, and also the rest stop's on your transfer if you get one as not all do.
Eating out is a joy and you should never get a bad meal anywere as there is so much compation for you custom. We have been going for years now and the worst meal we had was just average if you know what i mean.
Getting to Marmaris is a piece of cake, you can walk it in about an hour, depending on how many bars you venture into, you can get the dolmus and if its your first time to Turkey i would give it a go or the water taxi's are another alternative, not sure of the cost of the later two though but not megger expensive.
Hope this help's let me know if there's anything else i can help with because if i can't someone will be along soon to help,

Peter & Elaine

Dont mind walking and 1hr is not too much.Think we will give the dolmus a go.
The Red Lion sounds good as i need a good breakfast on a morning :)

You can get the dolmus (little orange minibus) into Marmaris it take about 15-20 mins and costs you 2 lira, which is about 80p. The last bus to marmaris from icmeler is 1am, and the last bus from marmaris back is 1.30am. They are so easy to use I only wish public transport was so simple in this country.

well i live down the road from the airport so its the only place i fly from
its alright actually to say for its size
also id buy any food you want from the greggs before u go into departures as its the normal prices u find on the high street
theres a pub in departures that also serves pretty decent grub and a burger king

Hope you have a great holiday, wish I was going now, but got to be patient..... (although I did go in May  )

By the way, if I remember rightly the water taxi from Marmaris is about 7.5TL, and a great way to travel.
