hi does anyone know what date the new airport at dalaman is opening.

I was over in Icmeler last week and it seems the new Airport
should be up and running in June 06

Thank You for the info. I wonder if it will make much difference ? We've never had any problems with dalays in the past at Dalaman, maybe we have been fortunate, just hope the new airport doesn't create any...

I flew to Dalaman last November and was quite surprised by how small the new airport building looked

Maybe they are keeping one terminal for domestic flights and one for international flights. They need to make loads more space as the overcrowding is horrendous in high season

We're off at the end of May and come back in June
Maybe we'll arrive at one terminal and go home from the other :?:

Just got back from Dalaman and saw the new airport building, at the moment only the outer structure is built, and could see huge columns inside. Unless they work very hard I can't see it being open this summer, as none of the internal work has started, but I could be proved wrong.
I fly out again on 5th June with a one-way ticket as I'm moving over there

so it will be interesting to see if it's complete by then.
The new building will be for International flights and the old building for Domestic, so I've been told.

Thanks for the wishes Collette, feeling a little bit nervous but excited as well about the move. At least I'm only 10 minutes from the airport so no more long transfers to Marmaris and Icmeler, but will visit friends that I've made over the years when I can.
