Do ATMs speak English?

Postby bellabella » 08 Jul 2008 07:56

Hi everyone
Do the ATMs speak English or do we need to know how to read "withdraw cash" in Turkish?

They're really simple to use - believe me, if my dizzy 17-year-old daughter can manage to work them, anyone can!

Bellabella
Bit off your question but I had an embarrising time a few years back when I parked in an underground carpark at a Mall just outside Budapest.I had gone to the cinema and a meal and was almost the last car in the place.I put my ticket into the machine and it didnt show the price but spoke to me in Hungarian.Nobody about so I couldnt ask.I just kept putting money in and was relieved when eventually the ticket came back out.
I was a bit worried I can tell you...
