Jeep Safari

Been back 2 weeks stayed at the Alvaro Apartments - went on a jeep safari booked through ICR had a very good day out got absolutely covered in dirt, went to a lovely waterfall, had a swim stop and a nice meal. Make sure you wear old clothes (not that you take old clothes on holiday) and put a towel in a carrier bag so it stays dry and when you come back shower at least twice as the nice white towels show the dirt!! Also did the Surf and Turf all inclusive ICR boat trip - again another great day out and good value - worth the hour coach journey to get on the boat.

Hi Tim sounds great fun as most of you know we have a little girl with Down's Sydrome so up until this year have only done the boat trips which she loves.
We would like to do a bit more now that she is getting older and I am thinking of the Jeep Safari I know it's hard to say but do you think it would be suitable for her if anyone can help I would be most grateful.

As we said the jeep safari we booked was through ICR and the seating was 2 rows of 3, so if you felt it necessary she could sit in the middle and you are well enclosed, you do have to climb over the seats to get in the back but would not see this as a problem, there is a lot of water fights between jeeps but this only adds to the fun of the day, but if you dont like getting wet then this would be a problem. There are plenty of stops for drinks etc I am sure you would have a good day. Hope this is of some help - we have been on lots of them in different parts of Turkey and have enjoyed all of them.

The Alvaro is great isnt it?,we were there in 06. Thinking of doing the ICR Jeep safari ourselves this year. Is it worth taking a camera or do you think its too risky?

Lynda I think it would be a great day out for your Daughter, if she likes getting wet she will be squealing with delight. I know I was, and I am over 21!

Annie, I have taken a camera before, but make sure you keep it in a water tight bag.

Sundays there is 12 of us going from ICR, so will be a brilliant day full of fun, and no doubt very wet....but that is a bonus in these hot temperatures at the moment.

I would definately recommend the jeep safari and Lynda as has been said before if you have help sure your daughter would have a great time. Never laughed so much in one day before looking forward to another in September with me and mum again.

i am just getting over a trapped nerve in my neck.....is the jeep safari very bumpy, or does it stick to normal roads? as we desperatly wanted to do the jeep day out

How long does the ICR jeep safari last for and what is included? and what day of the week is it on. I like to know these things so that i can plan ahead.

Already planning to do the horse safari

I think my friend would like to do this too.

karen,I would avoid the jeep safari if you have had a trapped nerve has it can become very bumpy when driving off road.
We dont want to spoil the holiday do we?

Ola you get picked up about 9ish and get back to your accomodation after 5. Your lunch is also included in the price also. You hire the water guns from the guys can't remember how much this was (also you could take your own if you wished).

Also included is lots of laughter, and plently of water so be prepared for a wet fun filled day

Donna - I bet you can't wait at least make sure the driver knows where to go even if you don't

Lynda, I'm sure Niamh would love the jeep safari. As long as she is involved in the waterfights it should come as no nasty surprise when people wet her. Just remember to take along the biggest water pistol you can find for her. I wouldn't worry too much about it being rough off road. I just did one with 2 broken ribs and to be honest, the plane ride home was rougher.
Enjoy your time in Icmeler (Alvaro isn't it?) and look forward to your report when you get back

Thank you for your advice have decided to give the jeep safari a go.I think she will be okay as she loves all the water fights and splashing around the pool.Will let you all know how we get on and will try and get lots of photo's.
Yes Steve you are correct Alvaro here we come don't know who is more excited Niamh or me.Last night shift tonight then 2 and a bit sleeps.

Lynda, dont forget that most of the jeep safari's do a video of the day and will copy it to CD for you to buy......we were a little apprehensive the first time we did it, as to whether we would actually get a CD, but, true to form, it was delivered to our hotel the next day. A great way to capture the memories of the day...... You will drive through some amazing countryside too.......Go for it and have a great time..... your daughter will love it if she loves the water (and by all accounts she does, looking at your photos!!)

We went to Icmeler for the first time last August. We went on the jeep safari with our two children 12 and 7. We had a brilliant day out, laughing from the the minute we got in the jeep. We hired some LARGE water guns. We have a DVD of the day which we have watched numerous times, especially during the long dark winter months, its a great pick you up tonic!!!

I`m sure your little girl will throughly enjoy it. Its a great day out for all the family.
