anyone recomend a jewelers for wedding rings dont normally where jewelry so have never looked in the shops but reading some comments on here sounds like icmeler might be theplace to buy these .

only 5weeks and 2 days to go till back in paradise.

me and my husband brought our wedding rings in Turkey in a different resort.

We paid £125 for a matching pair and when we got home my husbands was valued at £375 on its own

So i will always get my jewellery from Turk.ey

try Aquamarine or Ruby. I have used aquamarine for a number of years and still do (including wedding ring). Mustafa who used to be there (and designed my engagement ring) now owns Ruby. Would recommend both.

I to have the majority of mine from Turkey. the 14ct gold is quite soft, and does get marks on it and it will rub against 9ct, which is harder. So you might want a thicker band at the back of your finger.

My husbands has gone any shape but round, so we'll ask this year if they can reshape it. It was an unusual ring and only cost me £25 (lost his old one in the sea in Spain)

Also I've been trying to sell some of mine and what its valued at isn't always what people will pay for it.

I was offered £50 for a ring from a dealer with an aquamarine in it that cost me £110 5 years ago and according to the jeweller would be worth double. The dealers all class gold as scrap gold to them, even if in super condition and you know they're lying, so naturally i haven't sold but will take it back this year and see about having it made into something else.

Thats something i've learnt recently. So i dont regard my Turkish jewellery as an investment anymore. But might get better prices over in turkey if part exing or something. I dont imagine it would sell any better on Ebay either.

There are so many good jewellers in Icmeler, and everyone has their favourit.

My advice would be shop around, find the rings you like then haggle down the price.

Dee- Mustafa is a lovely guy, never bought anything from Ruby, but we always pop in to have a word when we are there.

I was going to do a new post but seeing as this one is about rings I might as well ask on here. I have an eternity ring which has a couple of tiny diamond missing. Hubby lost the reciept so i never got round to replacing them.Its been in a drawer for a few years and I always intended on getting it fixed. I dont think it was a really expensive ring but Id like to have the diamonds replaced. Anyone got any idea how much it would cost. The diamonds are very tiny.

Me and hubby bought our wedding rings from the jewellers underneath pleasure club, for the life of me cant remember the name of the place though!!! I went all over looking for mine being the fussy so and so I am, even looked in Izmir, but ended up getting the first rings we seen in this shop!! They made his ring to match mine, only took 2 days, they were really good.

I dont think that it would cost must to get your ring fixed if it is small diamonds.

Price will depend on how good the diamonds are that being put in.

Try The Ruby that Dee mentioned if your not sure about where to go, Mustafa is a nice guy and I think he has a goldsmith in the shop.

Try Sultans shop just up the road from Taj Mahal indian heading towards the beach its the big corner shop you cant miss it.
Me and the other half got new wedding rings 10 years ago for just over £100 each (valued back home well over £100) they engraved our names on the underside of the ring which aparently is a Turkish tradition to have each others names on the rings.
We have gone back there most years and bought several pieces and have never been disapointed. Tell them big Bill sent you Amhet`s friend, you never know they might give you some discount.

i agree that ruby very good i be buying in august from mustha he used to work in aquamarine also good but give ruby go .

Take your eternity ring to the Sultan jewellers under the prince apartments (near Taj Mahal) - will not be a problem to replace lost stones.

Mum had some diamonds put in her grandmother's engagement ring (as she'd lost a few) - they're beautiful stones and the cost was a mere fraction of what she would have paid had she had the stones replaced
here!

I don't use any other jewellers now, I've used the Sultan the last couple of years and quite often take over broken chains or jewellery I've got fed up with wearing and trade in for something new!!

Can't recommend them highly enough!

Been back 2 weeks and had some gold repaired - the repair shop was right opposite the ICR shop, down some steps, they make and repair jewellery it was not a shop. If you take a picture or drawing of what you want they will give you a very good quote and make it while you are on holiday

My sister is a diabetic and needs to wear a Medic Alert tag at all times but couldn't afford to buy what she liked in gold here or from the USA. So I took a picture of the Medic Alert emblem with me and asked if they could copy the emblem onto a plain gold heart that she could wear on a necklace or bracelet.

The results were amazing, the emblem absolutely spot on... and it's unique. When I got home I had all the essential information engraved onto the back (they were unable to do it in Icmeler as they didn't have the equipment for such small writing) and my sister was delighted. That was 4 years ago and I think the only time she's taken it off is to clean it!

So if you know what you want but haven't found it in a shop - pay them a visit!

I agree.Sultans is a very good jewellers .We bought our wedding rings from Hamdi four years ago.They were also engraved inside with each others names and the date we met.I bought my wife an eternity ring there last month and he also repaired my sons neckless and a friends puzzle ring that was broken.We would not use any other jewellers now.

We have found Greenhouse jewellers to be fantastic bought our wedding rings and wifes engagement ring there had them engraved inside fantastic and great price,, so good we bought a second set the following year in white gold just so she could have a change haha

I have a diamond cluster ring which my husband bought me for my birthday a few years ago, and I lost one of the small diamonds... I know they were not very good quality diamonds, as one jeweller took great pride in telling me.

Anyway I took it with me last year, along with my mother's engagement ring, to have made slightly bigger to wear on my right hand, and the two of them cost me £25. They also took all my other rings and bracelet, and cleaned the lot for nothing.

The shop was near Moreno Leather shop, near Kontes Beach hotel...sorry I cant remember the name of the shop.

if you use the beach near the Efes/Blue Rainbow, see Ibrahim (beach boy) about Sultan - he works there at night

Everyone you speak to has their own favourite jewellers. We always use Trust. Metin is an expert on diamonds and loves his work. The diamond ring I purchased there was valued here in England by a reputable jeweller and came in at over 4 times what I had paid for it!! If you stand on the main street with your back to the webcam Trust is on the run of shops on your left handside after crossing the main road.

Me and my fiance got ours in June 07 whilst in icmeler, we don't actually get married until Aug 08 but as we knew we wouldn't be going this year to icmeler we decided to grab ourselves a bargain.

We got them from the Aquamarine Jewellers which is up on the top road, on the right of where the pop inn bar is.

The staff in there were great, Keith as we called him couldn't have been more helpful.

When i got home i found my ring in Ernest Jones over here and it was over £700, me and my fiance got both of ours in turkey for £550. So we'd already made a big saving.

This year when my parents went to Icmeler they took my fiance's ring with them as it had gotten a little bit big from when he first tried it on and the staff at Aquamarine resized it for us for free. You get all the gaurentee certificates so i'd definately recommend buying your rings out there.
