icmeler in august

Postby judyian » 02 Jun 2008 08:51

first of all a big HELLO to everybody out there,, :D
me and my fiancee judy are thinking of going back to icmeler in august,,
we were in icmeler last year staying at the mersoy,,
what we need to know is,,
who are the best people to book through,,[ no hassle]
is a/i the way to go?? or self catering ??
could any members reccommend any hotels / apartments
is it easier [cheaper] to book your hotel / flight / transfers, yourself ??
is icr the place to go to book all your trips ???
or would you reccommend booking everything through icr ??
we are new to the forum,,but we are members of other forums,,
we tried 3 different resorts in turkey last year, icmeler, bodrum, altinkum,
but we found icmeler to be the best,,by far,,
we cannot wait to go back, sometime in august,or possibly sooner,,
but we have our heart,s set on the first 2 weeks in august,,
all replies will be gratefully received,, thank you,,judy + ian,,,,

Hi welcome to the forum, I would recommend you book through ICR I am going out in August the 10th and I think you may struggle to get your flights (at reasonable price) I would recommend the Devamli Hotel as we stay there, but I know they have over booked as they have had to upgrade my brother in law. He has just got in the Diva next door so give ICR a call and I am sure they can fix you up with something. :)

Hi Judy & Ian
I suggest you give ICR a call, you will get no hassle, cheapest possible price and guidence for your accomodation. But it will be YOUR choice. As for A/I or self catering, I prefer S/C there are too many nice places to eat
and drink and i don`t like to be tied to one place . but if your`e on a budget go A/I and have the occasional meal out. Hope this helps.

Hi and welcome Ian and Judy
ICR every time I'd say....tell them what you fancy and they'll come up with a few accoms to suit- and if you're unsure, post on here to get views from folk who've already stayed in the accom - unless you're REALLY brave and we could choose for you ha ha
that'd bring a whole new meaning to the ICR mystery trip

I prefer self catering just because there're sooo many places to visit and I'd hate to miss out - and if ££££s a consideration, there are lots of cheap pide/pizza places to choose from.
If you fancy AI, just remember that you get what you pay for - we've done cheap ones in Spain and though we saved on drinks and snacks, the food really wasn't enjoyable

Hope this helps and that you get sorted - remember too that there's no obligation with ICR, but at least they know the accom they sell and at the very least you can have a great chat with them!!!

thanks to everybody, who welcomed us/replied to us,, :D
money is not a problem,[dont want 2 sound flash,,im not]
but we stayed at the mersoy last year,A/I [dirt cheap]
we ate out most evenings,,and most breakfast times,,
we found the hotel ok,but were put off by the feral cats,,
it was me who decided to go back to icmeler,,
as we did not like, altinkum,,bodrum was ok,,but our hotel was at the top of a steep hill [guler resort]
we only did 1 boat trip last year,,this year we want to do a few,,as well as jeep safari,,and others,,
i understand at the time of year we want to go,,we will have to pay a premium,,but we are not bothered,,within reason,,
and this time we are going for 2 weeks,,so we should be able to do a LOT more,,
i get the feeling that everybody reccommends ICR,,are they really that good ??
any comments replies,ect, most welcome,,
cheers,,JUDY+IAN;;

Hi Judy and Ian
Make the call then decide if you have spoken to a `travel agent` or made a friend, I felt it was the latter.

Hi Judy and Ian Welcome to the forum. ICR are every bit as good as we all say. Just browse around the forum for yourselves and I'm sure you will understand why we all rave on about them :) So many of us started out stumbling around travel agents and trying to put do it yourself holidays together online. ICR are true professionals and will always go that extra mile for all of us. They are friendly and helpful and after a while end up feeling like our extended family. :D :D
