im going to either marmaris or icmeler in july but im only 17 and i was told you have to be 18 to book and hotel and stay in it is this true?

Hi. I went abroad when I was 17 for the first time on my own and I managed to book everything ok (bear in mind that was a long time ago ) Would wait to see whatever anyone else says on the matter but I think you will be ok. My advice would be to ring up a travel agent and ask or better still see if you get a reply from moderators online here.

We got talking to 2 girls last year, they were 17, and were away on there own. They were there for 3 months and were staying in different hotels.

You'r best bet is phoning ICR. Or if you're not booking with them phne your Hotel agent, or travel agent. They will know if there are any restrictions.

Im sure that you have to be with someone thats 18 and over to book the hotel and flights. cos im 19 now but my mates tried it when they were 17 and couldnt, but they might have changed it now??

i rang up the number earlier and couldnt get through so i emailed them so hopefully ill get a reply.....ooo well i want my boyfriend to stay in the hotel with me and hes turkish but hes only 17 so do you think they would let him in becuase he turkish lol?

If the hotel is booked through us and his name is on the booking then it will be ok.

Some charter flight companies did allow a 17 year old to travel alone last year but at the moment I am not sure about it.

Turkish airlines are a scheduled flights so you can travel alone on them via istanbul to Dalaman

i'm 17 and was booked up for flights on my own this year (dont think i can say the company on here?) - had to book an adults ticket but said in the company info that children had to be at least 16 to travel alone think most uk companies are about the same to be honest but maybe you could have a click about on the website to see if it says anything about flying. I did actually change those flights and now am travelling out with my family but back on my own and everythings fine with that so should be the same for you.





As for hotels I cant see anyone being bothered about ages and things as long as you follow the rules and things - friends from college are both 17 and staying in marmaris booked a hotel no problem and last year (aged 16 obviously! ) was staying in a seperate room from my mam and brother and i ended up in a different hotel from them so shouldnt see a problem there either.





But to be on the safe side I would ring up your travel agent or have a look on the websites just to put your mind at rest

I booked flight only 2 years ago when i was 17.Had to book it in the travel agents and had to have my Mum there with me to sign that she allows me to leave the country alone.

Can't remember being 18 ( about 50 yeaars ago it would have been) and I'm sure that the plane wouldn't have reached Turkey, hope it all goes well for you.
