Hi everyone

Wonderful site! I'm off to Icmeler tomorrow and cant wait!

Unlike most on this site, we will be hiring a car to get around to birdwatch. Any advice about areas for white robin? Can anyone recommend good car hire? We will be using dolmuses for local trips, and will split our time between getting around and seeing the whole area and relaxing locally.

Can anyone advise about buying cigarettes - should I buy at airport or wait till I get there? - Superkings/Richmond or similar? What about return at airport or on plane?

Have read lots of bad press about Onur Air and Litera de Luxe (previously Abacus Hotel) where were staying but hope we'll be okay - we can put up
with a lot as long as our room is clean!

Any answers would be great!

Rosie

ICR (icmeler online) do car hire, drop them an email or click on the link on the home page.

Hi Rosie

Welcome to the forum.
We always buy our cigarette's at Dalaman airport both when we arrive + when we leave, 200 superkings are £16.50. It may be worth having a look at your departure airport to see if they are any cheaper.
Have a great holiday

Hi Rosee
Firstly I would advise hiring car from ICR as there are some dodgy hire firms You can rely on ICR service 24/7
If this is your first trip I would get ICR transfer
driving is a bit dodgy

2) Cigs
Dalaman arriving and again departing
dont be fooled into buying more than your allowance
def not worth getting caught by customs and spoiling your hol

Hi ochlinda, Polly and WOMBLE

Thanks to you all for your advice!

Will definately buy cigs at airport - cant believe the price!! How can everywhere else sell them so cheaply, when we're stung in England - like always!!!

We'll also book car through ICR and use dulmus locally - partner used to work in Turkey and used to the roads so guess it'll be okay! We want to get out and explore villages/mountains etc. and see the local life.

Thanks again guys

Rosie

Defnitely get your cigs at Dalaman - much cheaper than the Uk.

Spirits were cheaper on the aircraft (£10 per litre)

Onur Air is nowhere near as bad as Thomas Cook airlines (give me Onur any day!) - sure you'll be fine.

I flew back early this moring - be prepared it's abolustely scorching out there!!
