Hi, I am not really fussed on flying either, but I am definitely not as bad as I used to be. I took a coach trip to Salou, many years ago. Never again. I would rather be on a plane (a bit worried) for a few hours than go through that again.

I had a CD send to me, 'Fear of Flying' and it explained a lot of the noises, (which used to put me into panic mode) so I tend to be a little more comfortable now.

Of course the Vodka helps too

I use to love flying but since having kids have become really nervous. Its the thought of having them to look after too if anything happens. Last year I panicked when the engine changed noise. All I think is just remember where you are going and how much fun you are going to have.

i dont mind the flying bit, but me and the children suffer terrible ear pain on landing, so that spoils it......

as for richard, he hates flying.....and i sometimes wonder if he will actually get on the plane at all.......

Just a bit of info.........
when the engines 'change noises' just after take off, this is done by a on board computer, ( can also be carried out by the flight crew) this is controlled by the take off speed, if the plane kept going at take off speed you would probably end up on the moon, so the engines slow down to give you all a smooth ascent.

I first seen the drops, watching a Jeep Safari video, it looked scary. I never seen them on the way down, my eyes were closed

I love flying but hate the aerotitis (ear decompression). It always seems worse landing at Dalaman. After trying various expensive earplugs (all rubbish) I found earplanes were excellent. They're cheap, they work and you can get them from Boots or Tesco.

I've only flew once, be my 2nd time in August. It didn't bother me one bit, but then again the year before I flew I also went on the coach to Salou, 33 hours of pure hell...I never realised anyones butt could ache so much, so a 2 hour flight to spain was a godsend.

Think I would rather be on the moon

I used to be ok, but since 9/11 I am a nervous wreck.
