Favourite trip/day out

What's your favourite trip or day out that you'd recommend to anyone going to Icmeler?

We're thinking of the Ephesus 1 day trip, do ICR do it on certain days or any day of the week?

Looking forward to another lazy day boat trip (or 2) this year, it's the only thing making me get out of bed and go to work to pay for it

Are there any real beauty spots that are a must see?

Thanks.

I also agree with reesy + natajack. The jeep safari is a brilliant day out for both adults + kids.

First time I went to Turkey (10 years ago) I did a two day trip to see Ephesus and Pamukkale. Stayed overnight in a hotel and the trip was absolutely fantastic. Well worth visiting. Got kids now so don't think I will be able to do it again as it did involve a lot of travelling. This year we are wanting to go on one of the boat trips. Just hope the kids don't get bored.

Thanks for your replies - Jeep Safari sounds a real laugh but doubt it'd be much fun for my parents

How long is spent traveling doing the Ephesus trip? If you do the one day trip how long do you get to spend at Ephesus?

We really don't want to be paying out for a night in another hotel when we've already paid for our apartment - if that makes sense.

Boat trip is a lovely relaxing trip (just what was needed after jeep safari  )

Can't really remember how long we had at Ephesus but it was quite a while. I thought the same about paying to stay overnight in another hotel but when we did it we thought it was worth every penny. An opportunity that we would probably never do again. It was our honeymoon after all. If you do go on it take lots of fluid as it is extremely hot there.

Whatever you decide and whichever trip I am sure you will have a great time.

Hi Beau

I don't think they'd like getting squirted with water pistols

They're more and us really, into enjoying the senic trips, exploring taking in the beauty of the place.

Mom is really into places steeped in history, are there any other places other than Ephesus we should look out for ?

The boat trip we went on last year was sheer bliss, just floating around all day with about 4 - 5 swimming stops a real lazy day soaking up the sun. If you're taking the kids I'd take something to keep them occupied, a crab line (cheap too) would be a good idea, they could fish from the side of the boat when it stops for a swimming stop.

Why not try the mud baths trip Beau. Something for everyone there - the rock tombs for the history buffs then the mud baths which is great fun for all, and then onto turtle beach, again something for everyone.

We went on a real crap boat trip over in Greece and they packed the boat and we couldn't get a lounger so spent the whole time the boat was moving inside the cabin - only for the rep giving us a crab line and some bait it would have been a total rubbish day but we had loads of fun and caught lots of fish. The kids will love it I'm sure - take some bread with you to encourage the fish in by the boat.

That sounds good Dotty shall mention that to them when I see them next - we were offered the Turtle beach trip last year but were only there a week and missed that one.

Thanks again.

Thanks Beau will definately do that with kids. My sister went on Jeep Safari last year but said my two would not enjoy it as they are a bit young (7 and 4) so will have to give it a miss but sounds really good. Maybe in a few years time we will do it.

The jeep safari is one of the best fun days out......the best one is where they take you to see the blue fish. Lots of stops for refills of the water pistols, loads of laughs, but just dont wear anything you wouldnt want ruined.......you get very wet and very dusty :!:

I think the best way to finish off the day, is to go for a turkish bath and massage....mmmmmmmmm sheer bliss.

Beau, first time we went to turkey we stayed in Marmaris, 3 families with teenagers, who were hard to convince on going on a " trip" after a previous bad experience on a boat trip in greece thet made us all feel like refugees fleeing the country, packed in on a huge ferry boat with nowhere to sit! horrendous! :(
However, we hired a gullet for ten of us from Marmaris, and all had the most fantastic day, barbeque on board, and swimming in beautiful bays, even the teenagers say it was the highlight of the holiday, result! :D

I see from this site that ICR arrange boat trips and look good, so I would definately recommend a boat trip with limited numbers.
